Default Directional Wheels for C7 Z06 - Yay or Nay?!

With the recent threads on the GM 10-spoke Blade Accessory Wheel for the Z06, I was curious whether true directional wheels would look good on the C7Z.

For the record, I like the Blade Accessory wheels and I like them better that they are now available at a lower cost then when originally paired up with the Spice Red and Twilight Blue packages. However, I would like them more if they were truly directional as I think the wheels take on a different look from the divers vs. passenger side.

Growing up, I liked the OEM directional saw blades on the C4 and was curious what a true directional wheel would look like on a C7Z.

I searched various threads, etc., and there don't seem to be too many aftermarket options that fit the C7Z offset. One I found is the Stance SF01.

Another one I found is the Forgeline DR1. Similar in style to the Stance SF01, however nothing mounted on a Corvette (yet).

So yay or nay? Do you think directional wheels look good on the C7Z? As mentioned, I haven't seen too many pictures online, however I've seen more exotics with directional wheels and I think they look pretty nice. Certainly rarer than standard, non-directional wheels.

Thanks, but the Chrome vs. non-chrome debate has been beaten to death.

This thread is about directional wheels.

Make sure they are reversed in the other side of the car so once mounted, they are rolling the same direction. Not many companies actually do that. More expensive to design and cut and test (if they even do certification testings)

Here is my Signature SV107 line. Looks damn amazing!

Thanks. Those do look great. You are correct regarding the mounting as the Forgeline and Stance examples are side-specific so they roll in the same direction. The OEM Blade alternate wheels are not directional, that's why they look different side to side so the pattern does not roll in the same direction.

I don't see too many directional wheel options out there and the ones I see are mostly on exotics due to the added production cost. However, the Foregeline DR1s seem to be priced similar to their other Monoblock wheels.

I have two forged monoblock directional designs right now, Signature SV107 and SV108. Priced the same as our other very reasonable forged wheels.

Yes it is the trend on exotic cars at the moment. Ferrari made it very popular lately. Our SV107 is a spin on the Ferrari J50 special edition. One of the nicest Ferrari up to date in my opinion.

This color is the only color I like better with the directional wheels. All other colors I like the 10 spokes better.

The Pearl Nickel finish on the OEM 10-Spoke Blade alternate wheel does look good, especially matched up with Shark Gray/Watkins Glen Gray as in the picture. However, the OEM 10-Spoke Blade wheels are not directional or side specific. The front wheels can be swapped and the rear wheels can be swapped causing the blade design to roll in the opposite direction depending on the side mounted.

The spoke direction on the Stance wheels on the Z06 below would be reversed on the passenger side, making them side specific.

Directional wheels require rights and lefts, otherwise one side is backwards!!!!!!!!!

Yep. I get that. The reason I started the thread is to gain some feedback whether this look is something that Corvette can pull off as I don't see too many examples of directional wheels mounted on C7Z. Interchangeable wheels are far more common, yet I've seen some directional wheels that I like on other cars.

A few examples from Lambo and Ferrari...

Thanks. I appreciate the constructive comment as that's what kind of feedback I'm looking for from a guy who knows his wheels!

I like the look of some of the directional wheels, but there is probably a reason I don't see too many of them on the C7Z or Corvettes in general. Perhaps the look is a better fit on the exotics.

The AR1s are still probably the #1 choice for me as they look great on the C7Z.

Here are two pics of directional wheels on my car. My personal view is that directional wheels are a growing trend, both with the OEMs and aftermarket. I think non-directional wheels generally look better because of the symmetry. But it's really hard finding an original symmetric design that isn't just plain weird. Since directional wheels are less common, you can be more original.
