I'm guess that is just the wax they use as a lubricant. I have no issue with them lathering up the rims as much as they need.
My dealer F'd up my brand new Deity track wheels mounting my Toyo R888R's. After scratching 1 rear wheel, they sent the other out to be damaged further. They've agreed to powder coat the wheels after the season.
