Default Chassis Mount Wing! For the track rats!!! Look inside!!

Don't flame me, I know this is not for everyone. This is good for the track guys I'm making these parts for. 3D scanned and rendered on the computer. Chassis base will be done next week. Wing/airfoil is based off the Gallardo Super Trofeo.

03/01

Introduction Pricing is set at $2700 shipped to 48 states, carbon spoiler delete included.

Carbon stands/legs will be additional.

Final revision to the stands. Thicker 3/8th” and less cout outs, cross stabilizing bar is now up above the Corvette flag and just under the 3rd brake light. Way more stable.

Also, airfoil is moved 3” forward from the prototype for a more pleasing look. Just above the top of the bumper.

Ok the lift so I snapped a couple of pics showing off the chassis mount wing.

Attachment 48352567
Attachment 48352568

Large end plates on seemed to be way more stable and damn good looking

Production is underway. Possibly slightly thicker legs and legs cutout.

Final number is 20” exactly on the inside of the legs. Looks much more proportionate vs 15” or so from other makers.

Bumper slots cut and it’s relatively easy to do with the given measurements.

Tikt wing brackets are lined up to the tail lights. Reason why they are so close together are due to the limited space back there. I calculated it to be just 15” apart. Too close to my liking.

By moving the legs down toward the bottom of the upper bumper, I have more space to move the legs wider apart to 22”, right up to the taillights.

I think it’s spreads the downforce more evenly across the wing and also more pleasing to the eyes to look at when viewed directly from the back.

As far as pricing, it should be less half of TIKT. Finalizing the pricing with my carbon maker and fabricator this coming week.

02/14 UPDATE

So it’s ready for production. 3D scanning of the Airfoil resulted good numbers according to the fabricator. 10 to 1 ratio on downforce to drag. At 120 mpg, it should produce about 300 lbs of downforce at the high setting. This is great number considering that is at 120 mph and only calculated from the Airfoil alone. Off to powdercoating matte black. Will have option for carbon external legs in the future also. Stabilizing beam will be much thinner than this prototype showed.

Batch of 10 will be produced in the initial batch.

White dots on the airfoil were for 3D data scanning and calculation.

You need to develop a flat or flatter plate to cover up the mounting holes in the rear facia where the factory spoiler mounts. Leaving it in place will have a significant negative impact on the performance of the wing.

As mentioned in the original post, will have spoiler delete instead of the factory spoiler like the program we used to rendered the wing.

You should have the brackets mount to the top of the wing, not the bottom. Loose a lot of downforce mounting the way it is.

so you need to slide the mounts thru the plastic body to mount it?,it will take a whole crew to do this

No, bolted up at the bumper area. Brackets will stick out 2” from the back of the bumper so the legs can easily be removed

Swan necks? Too much for my liking. You will rarely see any street/track cars with swan necks, not even even many race cars.

Looks nice, but I'm wondering, can someone ruin your day and easily steal the top wing if you park the car out of sight somewhere?

Looks promising and you guys are really working on some cutting edge stuff.

One request, PLEASE consider offering a composite wing as well as a carbon one. I have a hard time justifying carbon in most applications on a street car due to cost/benefit. I'd be a buyer for composite, probably not for carbon. Many of us who track see our cars and car components as tools, not cosmetic enhancements. We don't do car shows or cruise in's and as such are not caught up in the carbon craze. The weight differential of carbon over composite will not justify the additional cost.

Rick, will have a more economical black jell coated version too. I’ll take care of you for sure!

What is GM doing differently in being able to keep their rear wing mounting so much more discrete?

If the GM wing becomes available, and reasonably priced, I would buy it in a heartbeat (assuming it can be adapted to the Z06). Based on how their mount looks, what is to keep someone from making this a removable section, leaving next to no trace of the wing for when you are not on track. Some simple body colored plugs could then bolt/snap in place and you would basically not even know you have a rear wing.... If I were trying to develop a wing, this is the approach I would take but what do I know.

That said, I do like what you guys are doing, just would rather it be less noticeable for when the wing is not mounted, a/k/a the rear vertical plates that stick through the rear bumper.
