Working-Sometimes
I have noticed that some of the people that called me have old cellular phones and THEY have trouble calling me.Most people with newer phones can contact me without any problem.I am begining to believe my telephone doesn't recognize the older model phones.Just a guess.

Been following this thread for a while and after seeing Flame Red's experience I decided to go for it. Just got the modules connected today and it seems like most things are working...still need to go through and check over everything.
The main thing I wanted to mention is the drive ve mode menu is gone. I somewhat expected this after Jeff V's observations. It seems like on the 2014 z51, you lose the menu. But 2015+ retains it. Not sure if this is a software setting that can be changed or a hardware difference, perhaps a version change in another module somewhere else...
My main reason for doing the upgrade was to get android auto and I'm OK with losing the drive mode menu so I'll be keeping it.
2014 3LT z51. No pdr, no front cameras.
I'll come back once I button the car back up and test some of the other functions. Just wanted to share my experience with the drive mode menu.
Edit: After some time with the upgrade, everything except the driving mode menu on the infotainment screen looks to be working as expected. The only additional comment I have is that my settings for this menu were retained after the swap. I've left it set to Engine sound management: off and steering control: Change with drive mode. Both of these are retained after the swap despite the menu being gone. What I don't know yet is if these will get reset if the battery dies or gets replaced, or if any other electric work is done on the car.

Infotainment.com Customer Care guy told me they tried EVERYTHING to get the PDR to function. But I am not so sure they tried a newer (17/18) PDR. I looked around for a 17 or up used PDR and have not found one so far. I have a MDI so I might be able to manage to program it now with the vechile VIN. I don't want to spend a TON of $ for used one though. Like I said, I only tried using the PDR once when the car was new.
I use the PDR a lot so I'm trying to figure this out.
The PDR problem could definitely be due to the security measures on the 2017 cars. It could even be as simple as a year to year change in how the data bus messages are formatted. I think that's the problem with the drive mode menu on my 2014. My ECM has the early style, and the new HMI expects the 2015+ modes with the extra options. It doesn't get the response it expects from the ECM, so it disables the menu.

When I bought my HMI, it had 15.2B033 on it. This is supposedly 2016 software. But then I was able to upgrade it to 16.3B020, which is 2017 software. I didn't have to do any tricks or workarounds. This was the version the GM programming application gave me. As far as I can tell, any changes were behind the scenes. Other than the version number, there's nothing new visible. I'm curious to see how far I could upgrade it before the GM system or the HMI itself stops me. If I can find another cheap HMI as a backup, I might try it.

If you do call, ask for Joe Mancinik manager of customer support. He is really good and cares. He can talk to the guys that do the programming. The sales guys will say everything works. 855-636-6287

Apparently, I missed it toward the beginning. Not sure what I was doing. Must have been when I got up to get something to drink. Ill watch the first part of the keynote, over, again to see if I can spot it. Thanks!

Anyone know if the software is different between a convertible and coupe or automatic vs m7?
if all need to be right it might get hard to find a 2016 with the same equipment.

As far as I've seen, there isn't any difference between coupe, convertible, automatic and manual. There doesn't seem to be any difference between base, Z51, Z06 and Grand Sport either. The main concerns are factory navigation or not, UVC or UVJ camera system, and UQA or UQS sound.

Not where the HMI is concerned.

Hi guys,
sadly I'm not driving a corvette, but an european station wagon with the same IO6 HMI 2.5, hope you are OK with that
I'm looking for a easy way to activate a retrofitted rearview camera.
@Jeff V.
When I unterstood you correct you used factory programming, MDI and SPS, to programm your HMI with the calibration data of a different VIN.
So how does this work, isn't the Software always using the VIN it reads from the car?
If not what is with theft protection, wouldn't you just overwrite the HMI VIN and it would be theft locked?
Your Adelco subscription is running on the VIN of your car or on the this other VIN?
A short step by step guide would be great.
I know a lot of questions for a newbie, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

The GM programming software reads the VIN from the car at the start of programming. But you can manually enter a different VIN at that point. If you have an AC Delco subscription, you need to have paid for each VIN. If you enter a VIN you haven't paid for, the program will close with an error that says you do not have a subscription for that VIN.
This is risky. Mixing and matching hardware and software from different cars and different years may not work. It's also possible to brick a module by loading the wrong software into it.
The theftlock is easier, at least for this. The module learns the car's real VIN when it reboots after being programmed. Other modules may be different.
I would not be surprised if GM closes these loopholes in the future.

Ah good to know, thank you.
I think this would be a good way to go for me.
As I'm not swapping the HMI at all, but just using a nearly equal equipped VIN with a RVC to calibrate, this should be fine.
This info really helped a lot, I will do a bit more research on this.

I did get the modules today and was about to start programing but when im going to oick the right modules in the list the translation om my language was quite bad basically the same name on A11, A20, K73, K74.
Which is the correct one for the hmi and radio upgrade?
