Radar detector

Radar detectors work best when used with WAZE app. and a Rabbit*.
* How to use a Rabbit, Wait till a faster driver passes you. Fall in behind him. Repeat this process until you are driving the speed you prefer. Hang back as far as possible and still keep the rabbit's brake lights clearly visible. When the Cop turns on his radar to catch the rabbit your detector will go off and you can slow down and wave to the rabbit while he is getting pulled over. If rabbit turns off, repeat the process.

Lol I call them "blockers" or a "fullback", but same deal - works every time until you decide to be the fastest on the road.
FWIW, and I am no expert by any means, I have used Cincinnati Microwave/Escort since I turned 16 (24 years). I "cheated" when I bought my last daily driver with a Valentine V1 - always wanted one as they advertised prominently in Car and Driver growing up - my experience with the V1 was terrible, the false positives made it more like a windshield paperweight than a protection device. In my new DD and soon to be built Z06 I bought the 360C and love it. I can finally drive like I used to again. I routinely do a 184 mile stint for my job and, before cruise was set about 77-79MPH. V1 would go off about 5-7 times during that trip. Last trip (last week) my 360C went off once, and it was in fact a real gumball machine - not sure of the range it picked up at, but was plenty enough to slow down from about 84/86 or so to 72/73MPH.
Years ago I was told that Cincinnati Microwave AKA Passport AKA Escort made the radar guns for the fuzz. Not sure if true but sounds good anyway.
Not sure about the R3, never owned one or played with one, but I have read great reviews especially about the range. And the folks who own them swear by them.
The redlight camera feature on the 360c is great for my DD, but I don't expect to see a lot of city driving in my new C7 so probably a non-issue there. Negative is cost and the subscription model for the database updates.. Stupid expensive, but seems to be well built and should last several years. The arrows (which was the main reason I purchased the V1) are really not that great - the lighting is dim and the location of the arrows makes it hard to see when you are rolling down the interstate, the V1 was much easier to utilize the arrows. Database updates on the 360C occur every Monday morning and take about 2-3 minutes or so. I don't use the Live app at all.
Just my $.02...Your mileage may vary.

I have a V1 and an 8500 in two different cars and really would like one that was "best of both" worlds. I know you can add GPS to a V1 with an extra module, and there's a MAX with arrows, though.

My 360C updates every Monday morning.
The furthest detection I have had is about 3 to 4 miles (depending on how fast the LEO was moving) Saved me 4 times just on the way to work today, I get at least 5 to 20 KA detections a day

I have used the same method for years....even call it the same thing. As a car passes us, my wife says..."There's your Rabbit"PS I have used Escort for many years and now own a Max 360 . The arrows are really helpful.
