I am trying to find some comparisons of these two units, which I have not found yet.
I did find this thread in which NorCal-ss mentions that this Whipple 2900 is a new design without the heat issues of The older one.
Heat is certainly a major concern on these cars, i’d Like to find more comparisons between these two.

Hope they can do a wider and lower design that fits under factory hood. Modifying the rear of the hood is cool with me but i dont want to cut a hole.

15 pounds over the stock 1.7 in weight is considerable.

Really? How much weight could you save by going on a diet?

Can you come up with a more stupid comment? 15 pounds extra pounds on the engine is a lot to add if you don't need too, the 2300
is 5 pounds of weight reduction off the engine.

Too bad the puny 2.3 is not enough. I’ll take the 15lbs and eat a taco pizza, ‘cause that’s how I roll. I’ll have a large root beer with that as well, to go along with my extra 100ftlbs and lower IATs

The puny 2.3 is a lot better than the 1.7. Plus it is a plug and play kit. Just as good as OEM. The 2650 needs a hood.
Not sure you can just cut a hole either. You can have the extra 15 pounds and the cutting the cowl to the windshield with the 2.9 Both require hacking. I like less weight not more.

Plus I avoid hacking on my cars! I'm happy with the 800 hp on pump gas.
Seems plenty to me.

I’m at 900hp with a 2.3.
Not enough and I spin it to the moon. 2.9’s and 2650’s will get it done.

Tony, get on with it already

Default Off of Edelbrock’s site, here’s the height, plus mention of Vette lid 2” shorter!

It’s a LT1/4 block & heads. The point of the post is the height is shown from the crank centerline to the top of the supercharger using the TVS 2650. Also, that they make a corvette lid which reduces the height by an additional 2”.

At a bit over 800 wheel, mine made 730 wheel torque on a dynojet. Just FYI.
