Looks like the MGW is the way to go, as with previous generations.

I'm going to wait and see if the ZR1 also pops out of gear on track and if it does I'll be buying my third MGW shifter.
Thanks for the great info you provide.

I had this 5th gear issue multiple times today at the track. Also had tans covered with fluid. I think you have answered both of my issues. Hopefully the fluid is just the vent letting some out, and hopefully the MGW will cure the 5th gear issue.

Now if I could get the eLSD to keep working for an entire session.

My stock shifter wasn't bad but Im probably the only guy on here who went with a Hinson short throw shifter & I love mine.

M7 is pretty good with the stock shifter. With The 5 / 7 shift you have to pay close attention.

Very unlikely. I'm very cautious about warranties and ordered one on the Memorial Day sale. If I don't notice a big difference I don't believe I'll have a problem selling it here.

I'm mod-critical and I'll tell you now...once you put in the MGW, you won't take it back out. I had no reservations on pulling the Vitesse out of my car and selling it, and that was a mod that has plenty of fanfare around it. The MGW is beyond worthwhile. Love it.

Great to hear. I've read plenty of positive reviews so figured it was a good bet. Taking baby steps to a Whipple 2.9 😄

MGW shifter is a MUST do IMO...had one on my C5, C6, my C7 Stingray and now my C7 Z06...so I’ve become somewhat proficient in installing them...have also done so for a few friends of mine....plan on installing on ZR1 providing I get the allocation and it’s compatible which I believe it should be....Best pound for pound mod...

I don't do many mods but when I do make sure they are good ones! The MGW is great one. Much more solid than the stock rubber noodle very high grade unit and when you get used to it none are quicker. Well worth the money! Self install is easy as well.

I moved my modified HURST shifter from my 2004 Z06 to my 2014 Stingray..
Stock C7 is definitely better than the C5 shifter, but still like the feel of the one from Core Shifters.

I think the MGW shifter is a good upgrade but the stock shifter in my 2017 has been very good. Best improvement for me was to change the trans fluid. If I ever have any issues like what is being discussed here the MGW will be going in, until then I am happy with the stocker.

What fluid did you use?

Amsoil Torque-Drive. It's a bit smoother at temperature but much better during warmup.
