Manual Shifter Comments
I plan to order a 2019 Z06 MN 7 and would like comments from those having the manual about the shifter. I replaced my C6 shifter with an MGW shifter and loved it (much better than the stock shifter). How do you feel about doing the same on your C7 Z06?

The stock shifter is pretty good. I planned on switching to the MGW. However am waiting a bit longer to see how it breaks in. Just over 3200 miles now.

Go for it, much better than stock

I really like the stock shifter but both my 2015 and 2017 C7Z had issues with popping out of 5th under heavy braking on track. The first car I tried multiple trips to the dealer for shift adjustment and they even replaced the entire trans with no change. Eventually I put an MGW shifter in and it never happened again.
I'm going to wait and see if the ZR1 also pops out of gear on track and if it does I'll be buying my third MGW shifter.

I had issues with mine popping out of gear too. Mgw pretty much cured that. It's tighter than the factory shifter and the throw is shorter as well. If I hadn't had issues with the factory shifter I wouldn't have changed it.

I have the Callaway short throw shifter and love it. Short positive shifts all the time.

I feel like it’s a bit notchy. Stock. I may actually go to a stealer and see if I can drive another car and see if it feels the same. Snatches and feels notchy sometimes.

Hmm. Well, it’s a cheap experiment.

For those who installed the MGW short-throw shifter, did you swap out the OEM handle or did you reuse it? Personally, I like the way it looks, however does performance improve with an aftermarket handle?

^^^ Nice interior! I like the steering wheel as well. Does the MGW shifter actually reduce the height of the OEM shifter/**** as well? It doesn't appear to based on these pics. Looks stock to me. Which I like!
