Or, if you have a manual transmission, leave the gearshift in "Reverse" and the Screen button is disabled, even when car is powered off. Even most Corvette owners don't know about this 'feature'.

Great ideas. I did not know about the reverse feature. I also keep a small handgun in that compartment, hence my original question. Anything to deter a thief in a quick smash n grab is helpful, and this would be a very low cost modification!
