Can't speak for him but on mine, there is absolutely a noticeable smell. If you've ever been on a flight line, smells just like a jet engine starting up (good and bad).lol

Depends on the kind or driving I'm doing. Normally, I use 91 or 93 octane, but when cruising on interstate for longer trips, I often use 89. Constant speed cruising doesn't require higher octane and the systems adjust to negate detonation or knock. Performance is diminished, but who cares when cruising at 80 mph. I try to alternate between Shell and Chevron fuel when given a choice because of their additives.

I order boxes of boostane and just keep a can on me; 1 32 oz can lasts 5 tanks roughly. I usually aim to mix for a 94-96 octane. Anything more doesn't do much, I just want to ensure no knock when I get on high rpm boost when playing around.

On track, I will push the mixture for a 98+ octane rating due to the extra heat buildup. MMT used to be in all fuels until the EPA started phasing it out due to environmental concerns. Lots of other countries still use MMT additive in their fuels with no ill effect on any cars.

Our cars have a specific CAUTION in the OM warning not to use fuels with MMT & could negate our warranties. Makes no difference to me if you do, just pointing it out. I would hate our buddy GM to cost you a new engine. 👍

The sniffer testing done on my ls3 camaro showed it was still doing its emissions levels as good as stock even modded after 20 years and hi flow cats which were 12 years old. I used boostane on that its whole life.

The higher concentration mmt formulas like torco do concern me though as they do leave a good noticable deposit that shows up even on the tailpipes as orange tinted black soot. The boostane formula makes you question if seeing normal brown or orange when examining the plugs which kinda questions just how much mmt is in that formula. The resulting data logs in hp tuners shows that the knock disappears once I get around a 94-95 octane mixture which is around 4 oz per tank, not exactly tossing in a whole can.
