for the street neither should overheat. I have an m7 and I drive my car with the ac on in the summer and I still push it from time to time. Temp never breaks 220f.

as far as the code. It seems that 160mph or 157mph is the magic number. I think this is done so that the code is recorded in the ECU so GM knows, on record, the car had reached that speed.
Incorrect. I posted by experience at the track in the Lap Time thread. A8 and shifted manually with no issues in Ambient Temps of 90'. I even posted my PDR Data and Video. Most 'Auto' drivers who had issues left it in 'D' mode.

Who is this "average customer" you are talking about? The "average customer" will never take their car to a track. How much tracking do you do?

a person who buys a z06. Then takes their z to the track.

I dont track my car. Which is irrelevant to your arguement.

but if I did I wouldn't overheat, because I dont own the auto lol

I own a Ron Fellows car. It had zero modifications other than the decals removed, and some wiring related to instrumentation they add for the school that is subsequently removed prior to sale. Otherwise, bone stock.

Agreed with all other folks on this thread. RobGZ06 is an official troll. Does not track his car BUT claims to know all about overheating. Meanwhile folks like us who have validated or invalidated theories are pushed aside.

Your incorrect statements are extremely misleading. Why make this up? People ask legitimate questions and basically don't know if your lies are true or not. Autos can and do last longer than one lap, many folks cars have never overheated (both transmissions) and they don't modify the cars at Spring Mountain, it was asked in my class too. Ask those professional drivers if this refined street car is track capable. It sure is. 1.2 g's on a skid pad...

So why the class action lawsuit then?? Lol

obviously most cars have been affected, the majority of them being auto.

or are you guys doubting that now? Lol

lol oh please. The overheating issue isnt a secret.

a simple search will yield many threads with customers and their concerns.

customers posting their videos on youtube wondering why they're car is overheating after a lap or 2 lol.

the only ones pushing facts aside are the ones in denial. Lol

On the course? Don't get yourself into that debate because you'll lose. We all know our Z's overheat, especially yours since yours is an auto.

With that said, every car will outperform an auto Z on a course if there's more than 1 lap lol. Our cars are true contenders and will whip on most supercars but only for 1 lap. Maybe 2 if you're lucky. Other than that, cars like the GTR, ferrari F12 etc will run rings around our cars.

Btw you should have waited a couple more months to get your '18. They usually knock like 15k off the price towards like september. 90k seems a bit much. Unless you got yours earlier this year.
If you wanting to track your Z06 you should have KNOWN better to have bought the M7 over the A8. The M7 refine and has no overheating issues. Except maybe a few
that go tracking in 98 degree heat.
The Z06 is great car for the money stock. The Z06 also enjoys this forum showing a HUGE Corvette aftermarket with easy suspension and power adders that are second to none. None of the more expensive cars can say this. People get stuck on the word stock. You make any change the car is no longer stock.

Yup, you can still see the shadow of a faint “108” on my car quarter windows and rear apron when the sun hits it right.

I was was hoping to hear from the alleged expert though.

Rob, when you end every statement with lol, you really come off as an immature child. Your Internet forum skills are sub-par at best. No one will ever take you seriously here with the things you say.

Well.

For one, i do admit i'm immature. I like to joke around and not be a downer dan. But from your statement above you come off as an old man with no sense of humor lol. Just judging posts like you're doing.

Not really concerned about people taking me seriously. I'm not on this forum to gain acceptance from anyone.

lol
