2020 C7 Z is going to exist over the Summer
A little over a month from today, they will start the 2020 production run of the c7's, and will continue to make c7, including the z06 and zr1. Supposedly a short production run, but I think it will end up being a long run, with few units built during that run. Car's should have limited edition indications on them (probably just stickers)

TPWs for 2019s at least till early May...so define “little more than a month”
Typically new MYs follow GM press release and dealer order books, which to my knowledge haven’t happened.
I expect 20MY announcement around Bash with summer production.

Youre right, the person told me that by the beginning of may, 19's were done, and then a month after the 20's would be ready.
Think about it, there is no reason for GM not to make money with the c7 tooling, and why announce a 2020 c7 at the same time as the c8? Makes no sense.
The 2020 c7 is announced before the c8. C8 may not even be announced at the summer bash, but i believe it will. But, could be later.
Edit: i later realized they might reveal it same time as ME because if it shared the lt2 engine, then they would not want to reveal the lt2 engine before the c8 release, so it might be a side by side reveal event... which would also explain why the 2020 c7 got moved backward in its release... the c8 is not ready yet.

Umm i know this is the C7 section but who cares? The C7 is nearing it's end. We want to see the next installment of the corvette already?
My warranty is almost up and i am hungry for a new toy. So the C8 is what i'm waiting for.

I guarantee we're looking at a year from now or possibly even longer as the earliest the C8 would even be on the road so I'm not too worried about it. Enjoy what you have now because who knows what the future holds.

I still have a feeling the mid engine car may be a Cadillac. Maybe both Corvette & Cadillac.
The C7 car will continue on as is. There should be interesting news update coming out at the Bash next month at the NCM.

But I hope not. The Corvette branding deserves this mid engine dream turned reality.
I just want the reveal already.

The ME is not a Cadillac; period.
Will they limp along the Z06/ZR1 to fill the gap with the C8 delay? Plausible, but not intended. What I don't get is if they're going to make the Z06/ZR1, why not just make them all? Do a short run 2020 model. GM being GM they'll do lots of sticker and badge engineering and make a hundred special editions.

i meant to write they will make them all... i just wanted to include the z06 and zr1 since that is what people in these forums care about. My friend only did mention z06 and zr1 as that is what we were speaking about. So i guess im saying no promises on base c7, but not against my belief either.

Its not the c8 in this thread they are speaking of... GM would never give dealers build codes BEFORE a car is revealed, its not even possible in this universe, so much has to take place between the time a car is revealed and the time of production...
so what the images were of is the build sheets of the c7's, and the reason GM needs to keep it secret is because people will back out of their 2019 orders once they realize their 19's are going to be obsolete old news in 1 month.
And the addition of the DCT trans as the only option for the car... well now... that most likely means we will see turbos on the z06 and zr1 in the c7 in the next year or so, since dct dont like 1500 rpm gear splitting torque from top feed blowers on big v8's.
And thus... this is all GM testing the new turbo engines and the new dct, and it is also GM making money, as they should, by pulling all the current c7 owners out of their cars and into newer ones, to keep the lights on and make ends meet at GM.
Im actually proud of them... they actually are doing what I said they should do for once
We will see if they have the guts to play with turbos in the c7. If not, they are definitely going to be giving their new dct a thorough test when it is put in the z06 and zr1 with top feed blowers.

Whether or not the mid engine will be branded under caddy or not, i just wish they did the reveal already. I suppose summer is the time for that.
But i have a feeling the higher hp variants won't be called the z06/zr1 and something else.

OK, if there is going to be a simultaneous build in 2020, C7's and C8's, does Bowling Green have the production capabilities to make both of these cars at the same time?
We're talking 2 different animals here, 2 different assembly lines, different power trains, yada, yada. Also if the rumors are true about frames twisting or whatever with the C8, GM will never release them without a solid "fix".....or would they?

i think they are breaking engine mounts or breaking rear ends... i dont think the frame bending is a problem. I dont think the rear glass breaking has been a problem in a long time, i think broken cracked glass is what caused them to put the suspension vent around the entire perimeter of the back glass.

I hope the 2020 C7 then, can be still ordered with a M7
