I received the cup holder. No big surprises. It fits in the cup holder compartment just fine. It is a little bit difficult to pull it up and lock it but it will probably loosen a little over time I guess. I am disappointed that my skinny coffee thermos will not fit down in there. Maybe it will be secure enough. It goes in part of the way. Just keep in mind, the only thing that will go all the way to the bottom is a water bottle or something smaller. Some insulated cups are tapered at the bottom. Maybe I will try something like that.
Of course it is very expensive for what you get, but this is a low-volume item so you have to expect to pay more. My cup holder insert was missing, so I needed something.

Overall, it is not a bad product at all. I just need to find an insulated cup that will fit properly.
There is one minor thing I did not like. There was a little sticker on top that left a residue after I removed it. Removing a temporary sticker should not leave adhesive that I have to remove with Goo Gone. At least my car has that nice citrus scent inside now. Haha

With the cups locking hard, they will loosen up but the factory says they need to monitor the injection process to make sure they lock smoothly as the tabs are quite small and can get deformed during the injection moulding.
Also i will mention to them about the glue for something less sticky also some people remove the 2 bottom cups in the front so it will hold the non tapered mugs and cups also. The velco sticks well but the cups can be separated from the velcro by rocking them back and forth.
I originally made just one for myself after i designed it from my own frustration with the C7 cupholder and had a local company make one with the inhouse plastic layering process and came out so will i invested $15,000 for the CAD development and the injection moulds! Let me know if the locking continues to be an issue and i will send you another one.

There is one more thing that I really like about this product. After I collapse it down, it sits low enough that my phone can still lie in the top of the cup holder. It fits in there perfectly and doesn't slide out when the car is in motion. It is easy to retrieve because it is sitting up high, almost at the top of the cup holder.
