hey guys, i just installed my blindspot mirror.
im gonna be honest ...
... this thing is awesome!
I was hesitant about putting it in because my car has auto dimming mirrors (but i also have tints), but im happy i put it on. it helps quite a bit. I would prefer a passenger side mirror too- i know the passengers sode is “convex” also, but not as much as the new mirror.

Thanks for the post
I agree, the passenger side would be a great addition too...
Due to the overwhelming popularity of this unit, I would not be surprised at all to
see it in the future

I got one for my 2017 C7 Z06 Z07.
Used the plastic straw trick to get it lined up. Absolutely can not see the original mirror (or that there is another mirror attached on top) after install. So, it looks good and most people would not know that it isn't OEM.
I am mostly happy with the mirror.
I do find the distortion, mainly some double vision due to the mirror being close to the driver - one eye sees a different sight line than the other.
Not sure that I would do it again.

Finally got around to installing this. Just made a tape handle to hold it with and eyeballed the alignment and got it perfect!
Wow what a difference this makes! Took me a few minutes to figure out how to best adjust it, and once I did, not only can I see the blind spot, but also the edge of the car. Don't really have to look left anymore before lane change, but still do out of habit. There is a slight distortion/double image sometimes, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Definitely makes for safer driving. A must buy I feel.
Thanks for the product!

The process would be pretty similar to removing the BSM's
- 20+ Lb fishing line, between the two lenses, Saw through the adhesive
- Remove remaining adhesive on OEM mirror
Pray that while you are doing it, you don't break anything
(and if you do, a oem replacement mirror lense won't break the bank)
Like BSM's or any other trim that uses specific 3M adhesive products,
they are designed NOT TO fall off...

I've had one of these for 4-5 weeks now. It is fantastic. When I first installed it I sat in the driveway and played around adjusting it. I could see some of the slight distortion others had mentioned and wondered how I could put up with it. Answer, I never notice it. Think about how you normally use it. Usually a quick glance, maybe 2-3 seconds is all you look at it. So basically I never notice the distortion. If I were trying to read a plate number of a car, maybe it would be a problem. But I had forgotten all about it until I read though this thread just now. This is so much better of a solution than any of the stick-ons. Just order it.

Here is a variation on the plastic straw trick. I wanted a bit more clearance on the bottom edge and my hands are not as steady as I would like..
Just two pieces of cardboard glued together, the larger piece slips underneath the original mirror and the small piece holds the new mirror up a fraction of inch.
Like most things being glued and "irreversible", suggest you do a dry fit with the glue pad's protective films still in place.
