I didn't buy my M7 2LZ Z07 last summer as an investment - that is what real investments are for. That said, given the price I paid for one of the last and best M7 FEs, I am not worried about C8. As for you, the '19 ZR1 as the one year, last of the FE's is gonna absolutely be a keeper. In fact, in another year or so, given what I see with C8 stuff, I might be tempted to change out to a garage queen ZR1 with a little depreciation on it.

Premature until we see it and get some driver feedback with numbers. Base car not interesting for me, Z06 follow-on for sure then I’ll yard sale my M7 Z06.

I honestly doubt there will be an upscale C8 model called Grandsport or Z06. Both cars are steeped in history and tradition and it wouldn't be fitting for the ME, Those cars represent a certain time in history and that time didn't include a mid engine.
How can you name a mid engine car after this?:

or this?:

It just isn't right!

What we do know is that there will be an upscale model called the "Zora" . That has its history too and to name the top of the line C8 after the man is indeed very fitting.

would be hard to go from 650 hp down to 500 unless they really cut the weight. I still think the c7 z06 is a great looking car

My ZO6 7M only has 1,200 miles currently, so I'm in no rush, and I'd consider a "base" C8 to be a downgrade, so I'll wait for the higher end version(s) of the C8 before even considering one. That combined with the issue of no manual transmission could be a deal breaker for me, but time will tell.

The spooky thing to me is... they still have an extra year to sort out the z06 level car as its a year after the base car's release...

so logic would tell me IF overheating is indeed the reason for delay, then the c8 base car is having trouble with overheating...

More reason to wait a couple years to buy one for ourselves.
I have to hand it to you Mike, when you wrote that the C8 was overheating, I thought you were talking out of your ***. Looking back through some of your posts, I agree with a lot that you have said now. I'm not sure if you saw, but the C8 is testing at The Ring with enhanced cooling, and it still looks to be the narrow tire base model from what I can tell through the masked body panels.

Is there anymore insight on the topic that you can share now? I am sure in the past few months, you and your "birdy" have had further conversations about how these cars are performing.

I was happy as a pig in slop when this post first came out. i had a 17 z51, no issues as reported here, and like the Rolls-Royce statements before it was glammed by BMW, the acceleration was "adequate."

My wife wanted a new car, and a vette even! She wanted a coupe. So i was going to get her a boulevard cruiser base 1lt stingray. But then i started looking at dealer advertisements, and the low ball price on the base 1lt hadn't changed much, but a new 2019 1lz Z06 coupe was advertised by the dealer for $68k with an A8! That one was gone by the time i queried the dealer. And then i saw all the dealers were ordering the "ones ees" on everything to move c7's to bump their c8 allotments. Definitely a target rich environment.

650 hp on deep discount. A 200 mph supercar for about the price of 3 Veyron oil changes ($20-25k ea.) Head Fist bump on "now is the time"....and on May 31 a Z06 became mine. Sorry wife, we'll get you one later. But not a C-me, i will never bend the knee.

Old thread... anywho, just picked up a Z because I decided to hold off on overpaying for the sexy new thang and take a killer deal on an amazing car I could enjoy right now.

Thanks, Ben
There is no proof that the C8 is testing at the Ring with "enhanced cooling." It is just a post with a pic of a C8. Please show me any evidence or proof they are testing "enhanced cooling."

Pretty sure everyone here is aware of this invention called the calendar so kinda pointless to keep reminding everyone when the reveal is. Those who care about it already know the date.
