C7 of Year Finalist (stock) 2019
My opinion about the C8 with the very little that we currently know is that if the base prices for a mid-engine super car is the $66K that is rumored it will be an unbelievable bargain. I mean there is nothing that will even come close in the ME configuration for 4 times that price. it will be a revolutionary car. Yes, it will also be revolutionary in the fact that it will no longer be an evolution of the traditional Corvette. It will not continue the legacy it will be all new and different. A Corvette in name only. I'm not saying it wont be a great car or that I wont love it once we learn more. I'm just saying that to me - it will not be a Corvette.

Yeah I think a lot of us vette junkies ( I’m on my 10th, a 16 Z06 ) are excited as always when a new generation vette is about to come out. That said, the C8 mid engine will be a radical departure from what we’ve known and loved over the years. Odds are though, it won’t take long for most of us to get all amped up over the C8 and be contracting a severe case of got a have itis over a new C8. When the C7 came out, there were lots of guys dumping C6 Z06’s and ZR1’s for 2014 Stingray’s. Course once the novelty of the C7 wore off, although the C7 was a big step forward over the C6 in so many ways especially the interior, that the Stingray power deficit over the ZR1 and modded Z06’s caused Stingray owners to either supercharge/mod their Stingrays or trade for a 2015 Z06 at the first opportunity.
As in the past, there will likely be the usual stampede of regarding the C7 as yesterday’s newspaper and there be long lines of buyers snatching up new C8’s at msrp or higher. So if history is any indication, one should be able to buy a new C8 at msrp, drive it for 6 to 9 months or so and unload it for what you paid or maybe a little less. Then buy a C8 Z06 when it comes out hopefully in the 2nd year of C8 production and do it again with the Z06.
All the above will likely be driven by the normal new vette hysteria that will surround America’s love affair with the Corvette. It’s all good and fun times ahead for us vette lovers.

Since we have not seen any actual pictures of the car yet, only camo'd shots with hidden details I'm adopting the "wait and see" attitude here. That being said, whether the car is attractive or not is always pretty much subjective, since beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As far as being an upgrade visually or not, there are still those that prefer the C6, C5 or any previous versions of the Corvette, so again, it's all subjective, but come July we will all get a true picture of the car.

Step up for sure. And as much as I love the C7 that’s gonna be good.

I am staying open minded but the picture I saw on line last night looked just like the Acura NSX. I love the C7 body and performance in my z06 M7. If a M7 vert is available in a few years I will drive it and compare.
