Default 2019 Z06 rims

I have seen several comments on this site that GM has gone to a new supplier for rims on Corvette. FWIW my 2019 Z06 vert A8, built 3/4/2019, has the black rim option and they are marked on the back of the spokes with Ronal, made in Mexico. This looks to be the same supplier as in the past.

Is there a way of telling or verifying whether these are rotary forged vs. cast? Marking of some sort on the wheel? Date code? Does it make a difference as to the issue with bending/cracking? Not questioning the validity of your statement just seem to be continuing reported cases of damage issues even with other 2019's.

I don't generally trust something because "I read it on the internet so it has to be true" and I certainly do not trust what a salesman tells me.

I just got mine last week (black wheels) with an early 19 build date.

GS: "I don't generally trust something because "I read it on the internet so it has to be true" and I certainly do not trust what a salesman tells me." -- I agree 100% and maybe somebody has some info on this - thanks Tom

I have already replaced one of the wheels on my '19 Z after its first track event. I was told that regardless of finish these are cast Mexican sourced wheels, and sadly, not up to the quality they should have or the level of performance this car has. The vendor I bought my replacement wheel said, that the strongest wheels are the ZR1 wheels because those are "rotary forged" which is one small level higher than cast.

Having wheel problems on my new/leftover 18Z and after looking, the budget for suitable replacement wheels seems to be north of $5k.

Also, in my pursuit of new wheels, I happened to chat with someone from a local dealer who suggested that when these issues with the C7 wheels first surfaced, GM was honoring claims on them. But, after analyzing the demographics/geographics they determined that most of the claims came from CA. Never mind that there are probably more C7's per capita in CA. Now they decline claims, even if there are extremely low miles on the vette.

Anyone getting claims honored anywhere???

Talk to Khoa at Deity Motorsports about Signature Monoblock forged wheels. You can get them for under $5K delivered.

X2 for Deity wheels. $3,200 for forged wheels that are bullet proof.

Hey Nick. I had two left side wheels replaced under 3/36 warranty last fall on my 2016 M7. My dealer ran a Pico scope test on the car and found the two wheels " out of spec " and wrote it up that way. My Z only had 3500 miles on it. I had them perform the MRC update also. The dealership is small, family owned and operated. I have used them for over 20 years for my corvettes and tahoes. I think it comes down to how knowledgeable the service writer and techs are and the relationship you have with them. I know it wasn't a ground ball to get the wheels covered, but they did it. I'm in NY

Email Khoa at Signature at Khoa@signaturewheel.com. Odds are he will get back to you very quickly, even on weekends. Khoa will give you great service and pricing. Signature wheels are a great buy for a monoblock forged wheel or whatever else you want
