I had an appointment this morning and decided to drive the vette. On the way home service stabilitrac came on and went off several times. Then I got a bunch of messages, service suspension, service power steering drive with care, service stabilitrac
, speedometer stopped, mufflers went full quiet, oil pressure went to 0 along with oil temp, a/c stopped working. Then it all popped back on. This happened several times on the way home. I have dsc module and shocks but otherwise pretty much stock. Anybody else have this happen?
I would think that if the car is running a bad battery would not be involved since the alternator is supplying the juice. But I could be wrong. Sounds like a trip to the dealer might be a good idea. --Bob
A year ago, I started up and the instrument panel started blinking. I drove a few yards and the IP went mostly dark. I pulled over, shut it off, then restarted. Everything normal. Hasn't reoccurred. Might have jabbed/released the start-button too quickly and confused the computers?
Could be low voltage due to a bad ground or bad voltage connection. Battery terminals are always suspect since they are right next to the corrosion source (battery acid fumes). If the battery ground cable is loose, has some corrosion between the terminal and the cable end that could cause low voltage issues with every system on the car. Also need to check the other end of the battery ground cable where it attaches to the frame as it could have issues as well.
A lot of batteries are replaced due to not making sure the terminals and cable ends are clean and tight. Once the battery gets replaced the new battery has clean terminals and the cable is tightened down so it might take a while before any dirt/corrosion that was built up on the cable end starts to affect the terminal and then start causing problems. The battery terminal doesn't need a huge glob of yellow/greenish residue sitting on top it to be compromised due to corrosion.

what year is the car and have you ever replaced the OE battery & if so when did you replace the battery?
I put an odyssey performance 48-720 in it last summer so I don't think it's that. I disconnected all of the cables and made sure they were clean and put them on tight. I also disconnected and reconnected the EBCM but I haven't had a chance to drive it again. I checked the ground wire that's beside the alternator and under the a/c line and that was really tight so I don't think that's the issue. I'll give it a test drive later today and report back. The car is a 2015. I've used the battery minder since I replaced the battery and never had any issues starting.
Somebody else had a problem with the DSC module messing with the CANBUS. Switched to stoke mag ride controller and car started and ran fine. Just something to check.
