Anyone have any advice before I buy a 2016 Supercharged Z06? Pros or Cons? How reliable is the supercharger? Anything I should be looking out for? All help is appreciated!
I have a 2016 ZO6. The HVAC is crap 80% of the time. AC usually blows cool air but not cold and car is not comfortable on hot days. Heat is also crap. Same issue it will be warmer than outside air but not hot enough to keep interior comfortable. Dealers have been usless. I think GM knows there is a problem and they beat you into submission with constant denials. Motor is strong but the A8 has the occaisional shudder. I did one summer track day. Car got hot and to limp around the service areas for a while.

2017 m7 here and the ac and heat work great in my car. As far as the op, I would say a supercharged car is not a satisfying to wring out as a high horsepower high rpm normally aspirated car. The c7z’s for the most part are reliable.

Yikes! Just so the OP doesn't get the wrong impression, keep in mind that this is just one owner's experience. My 2016 never had an HVAC problem, it always had great AC and heat. Some problems are with all ZO6's and GS's like wheels that are prone to bends and cracks and a problem with some of the 2016 A8's. However, the ZO6 is a blast to drive, enormous power and torque and has amazing handling and braking qualities. If you have a particular 2106 in mind, check the carfax history for signs of torque converter maintenance. If you get the car, make the switch to decent forged wheels and you'll avoid the OEM wheel problem. Buy a Range module to shut off the AFM system and you'll avoid the shudder. With those two factors taken care of you'll have a great time with a great car.
I have a 2016 Z06, 11,000 miles. I bought it used with 5,500 miles one year ago. I love my car, and have zero regrets. I have owned VIPERs and other Corvettes, other fast cars, and still have motorcycles. This is my favorite vehicle from the last 30 years.
My A/C and Heat work fine. On a 90 degree day when I have the transparent roof on the car the A/C needs to be turned down but still works fine. Just like every car I've ever owned that has seat cooling, I wish it was cooler, but it's just a few fans and it def helps on a hot day. I drive my car all year and the heat worked great last winter even well below 32 degrees F
I went with the M7 (manual transmission) because I like to drive the car, but also because so many people complained about the automatic. I'm happy with the manual and love driving it
I would suggest you look for signs of abuse and maintenance records. Pull a carfax, but also look for signs of damage like majorly misaligned panels, repaint, stuff like that. pull the dipstick and look at the oil. has the owner cared for the car?
Also, consider where you are buying it. I bought mine certified from a Chevy dealer. That dealer didn't do much Corvette business, but they cared for the car and knew the history: One owner, regular oil changes, no accidents in my case.
I hope that helps. Feel free to PM me and I'll give you my email and number if you want more info.
I have a 2016, with 16,000 miles on it. I don’t track or race, it’s just a car I drive around town and on trips. It’s an M7, and has been flawless. I can’t complain about a thing.
I have a 2016 and fully happy with it! SC was noisy so was replaced under warranty to be on the safe side. Out of that, only issue is during summer, car has a tendency to go to limp mode if pushed hard.
GM installed second radiator under warranty (M7) so will see how it goes now that it starts to be hot days.
For normal drive, strong acceleration, this car is a blast :-)
I too have a '16 Z06. Never had a problem and it is a blast to drive. AC and Heat work great. When I have the glass top in, the AC has to be turned lower, but still is sufficient. YMMV of course.
I have a 2016 Z06, but it is an M7 convertible, so my experience will not translate directly to yours. However I have found the AC to be pretty strong when blowing cool air to directly at me with the top down on really hot days, and the ventilated seats cut down on stickiness. On the other hand the heating pads in the seats are underwhelming in cooler weather. Cabin heating is OK, but I have never driven it below about 42 F. No problems to report after 7000 miles, except that the windshield washer pump was bad and was replaced under warranty. Not uncommon.

2016 Z06, M7 I bought new in June of 2016. 14,000 miles, not a single issue. The HVAC blows ice cold in the summer and heats extremely well in the winter. Never seen limp mode and I don't baby it. Fantastic car.
2015 A8 purchased new 04/15 now has 14K miles. Not one issue with the car except the wheels do not handle bumps that normally would do no damage for all other cars I've owned except my 11 ZR1 had the same issue.
The car will be like a little devil on your shoulder encouraging you to do things you should not do on the street and every Mustang, Challenger, Demon, Subaru WRX, and Honda will want to race you. They will tailgate you, drive next to you honking, and, even cut you off if you don't take their bait. Take it to the track instead and help the image of everyone who drives a Vette while statistically lessening the probability of hurting someone else or yourself.
Bought my A8 '16 Z in December of '17 from a high end used dealer. An inspection found a cracked rear wheel. Dealer replaced that, no further cracks. My a/c is fine but the heated seats don't do much (had them checked by Chevy).
Just turned 37K problem free miles. This thing is spectacular.
As Zee noted, everyone will want to race you. Do that on track and let those guys go find the radar traps for you.
