Default Z06 tire warranty

Hi Guys,

I've owned a 2016 Z06 for 2 1/2 years now and just realized my back tires are spent after only 5700 miles. I've never tracked the car. I pretty much drive it back and forth to work on nice days.

I feel that I should have gotten more out of my tires and wanted your opinion on it. Do you guys think warranty should cover part of the replacement cost or that's never going to fly?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Corded at 5700 miles? You might be able to get Michelin and thebdealer to pro rate you a tire. They only have a 15,000 mile treadwear warranty so maybe you will get a discount.

It's free to ask I guess. I wish the dealership had known about the alignment being set more for the track. They probably sold 3 Z06 total so they don't know much about the car.

I can relate. As others have stated it doesn't hurt to ask. Let us know how it works out for you.

I had the same results after approximately 9000 miles. When new tires were installed at Les Stanford dealership, they suggested and performed what they put on the service ticket as a 'street alignment'. I just turned over 15k miles and the wear is even across all tire surfaces where the prior wear pattern has not yet returned.

They don’t come with “track alignments”; but as several have mentioned many have alignment way off post delivery. I’ve got over 11000 miles on Cup2s and they are wearing evenly.

Doubtful any warranty will apply since incumbent on owner to occasionally conduct a pre flight as I’m sure they didn’t coord overnight. With proper alignment many get 20K+ mikes out of MPSS.

Interesting, just replaced the tires on my 16 Z06. Also never tracked and drive it pretty easy.
My front got out of alignment, and corded those two tires. So I replaces all four. The originals had 15,800 miles on them.

That's crazy that mine only has 5700 miles. I would have been happy with 10k miles. The only silver lining is that I hate those tires. They pickup every little rocks on the road.

Please be aware that OEM tires come with only 7/32. New replacements come with 10/32. If you replace them at Discount Tire's recomendation of 5/32, new tires have 2 1/2 times usable life.

Looking at Michelin’s web site and Discount tire’s, the new tread depth advertised for the Pilot SS is 7 front and 8 back. If you replace at 5/32, you will not get much wear. Michelin’s website says 2/32. You many not want to go that far but replacing at 5/32 seems a little premature. It is good for Discount though. I have a 2016 Z with 11,800 miles and I’m at 5/32 all the way around. I am going to “wear” them a little more before replacing. They also advertise the warranty as 30K miles. I don’t think anyone will get that!

Were the tires worn unevenly across the tread with one side being far more worn than the other? Or were they worn evenly across the tread? The back tires usually wear evenly and don't cord on the inside edge even with a track alignment.

They did wear on the inside. I went to the dealership yesterday and they told me those tires had no warranty what so ever and that 5700 miles was pretty good compared to what they saw on other Z06... Seems crazy to me but I don't know enough to argue with them.

I live in Maine and the roads are the greatest which could have affected the tires as well. I'm thinking about putting the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. Anyone has tried those by any chance?

As a Side note , Disc tire honors the manufactures tread life warr's and expectations so if you buy a tire from them and it goes 5-6-7k (your fault or not) they'll replace the tire pretty sure there was no pro rate or anything ! Jus send em a picture of the tire wear and bam new replacement is on way at no cost to you even shipping is free since you got em from them

disc tire for FTW always buy from them and they'll price match anyone but usually their prices are cheaper or spot on !

After i lowered my car i did not get an alignment and i ripped through a set of rear to the cords in less than 4k miles , align's are a must on this car ! thats why Gm offers free align for 1st owner up to i believe is 7k miles !

How can they verify your actual mileage? And you're talking about https://www.discounttiredirect.com/?
