I am a fan of the 2019 Z06 and also look forward to seeing the new C8 in person. My question is...and trust me, not trying to get anyone's back up, was wondering if you think the value of used Z06 19's are going to take a big hit in say a year to a year and 1/2 from now. A lot of people don't drive their cars as dailies, so the mileage is usually pretty low. I am thinking a super low mileage '19 Z06 (2LZ) in 2021/22 may be down in the upper 50's to low 60's. For example I had a 2016 Hellcat in plum crazy...bought it new, paid $70K...sold it this year for $48.5K. Car only had 3800 miles on it. Took a big hit because of all the new models and the seemingly endless production of the car. Your thoughts

If your asking hypothetically.. I personally think the C7 Z06 will hold it's value pretty well. Just because all the hoopla is about the "new kid", many actually appreciate the new C8 but are not too interested right now and aren't even thinking about selling. I can say, speaking only for myself, I am not remotely interested in resale.. I bought what I love and most likely if I ever do get interested and buy say a C8 ZR1 type car, my C7 Z06 will be in the garage next to it.. for me it's about passion and enjoying my life and appreciating that I can have what I have. I am not saying in some circles resale is not important, hell in a few years the "old" FE cars may increase in value for clean representations.,

Good question...The C7 Z06 is a very stylish car with world class performance and I expect it to hold it's value pretty well but as the new Gen is out there will be some less demand for a used C7 Z06 then there would have been if the 2020 model were still a C7...no doubt about that. I think your numbers are pretty close as I just just shopped Z06's last month for several weeks and you could get very low mileage 1LZ or 2LZ '16/'17 coupes for $60Kish...the 3LZ and Verts A8 demanded a big premium as I paid $70K for my '16 3LZ with 3K miles. Based on the performance numbers leaking the C7 Z06 will still beat a base C8 pretty soundly so until the C8 Z06 comes out the Z is still the top dog. I plan to look closely at the C8 Z and the Vert when they come out.

Saw a gorgeous orange 2019 Z06 right after my original post today on display at my local Costco. It was a 2LZ, auto and the discounted price was around $73K. I am thinking with some dealer discussion it could possibly be had in the high 60's. I think in 2 years or so I will be picking up a nice used Z06 in the 50's without too much trouble...I am getting a little tired of buying new and seeing massive depreciation the second I drive off the lot.

It's interesting to see the numbers and realize that the rise in interest rates may not be as scary as some people think. People in a position to pay for a Z06 in full probably don't care about the bank rates, but for those looking to finance, it's good to know that the rate increase won't break the bank.
