Default Value?

2019 Z06, A8, 2LZ, Watkins Glen Gray, black wheels, under 1,000 miles. Clean damage report as far as I can tell, built Feb 18. Dealer is asking $69k. I peg it at $65k. BTB good for 2 more years.
Thoughts?

You are worried about a 2019 model with less than 1,000 miles? Buy it, change the oil, and move on.

To me, that's a nice discount on a 1,000mi '19, that's gotta be at least 10k off a "new" '19 2LZ. I really like the WGG color too.

Dealer asking price of $69k seems very very reasonable to me. Make an offer and see what happens.

Agreed. If a new one is what you want and it's the right color for you I'd jump on it.

It is a good buy....especially if it has PDR or other options.

Be sure to inspect closely.....We flew to another state to buy a C7 from chev.
dealer with a clean CARFAX and 2,000 miles and it was wrecked/repaired front
and back and had a ripped Drivers Seat.

It has PDR and carbon fiber instrument panel. I wouldn't buy without a personal inspection. Dealer told me it was owned by a old rich guy who only drove it on Sundays. Maybe, maybe not, lol. I plan on having my local dealer run the VIN looking for service and or warranty issues.

agree but check the back story and carfax just in case. I don't think you'll get $65k but doesn't hurt to try.

I was in a similar situation in '17. It turned out fine-- no real issues-- but there was some electrical issue the dealer didn't tell me about on a 500 mi car that was shipped from another dealer.

This deal died before it ever got started. Even though it has less than 1,000 miles it has been in service for well over a year with no documented oil changes. Afraid of what would happen with GM if the engine ever blew and potentially being denied warranty coverage.

Did you try to get an explanation? ...Like owner changed?
Maybe not worth bothering unless they move on their price.

Waiting to hear back from dealer as I type this. Seems there is no record of the owner ever going back for oil changes.

I'm guessing the owner had no idea you are supposed to change the oil at 500 miles like most people who own these cars for a weekend toy and sell them before the first oil change light comes on. Nobody really knows but I highly doubt the guy/gal was ripping around in it just driving it on weekends, not sure I'd worry too much about not having an oil change at 500 miles since they should have changed it when it was traded in. The owner's manual doesn't say anywhere you have to change the oil once/year or I've not seen that anywhere so you shouldn't have any warranty issues from that. It just says change it at 500 miles and follow the DIC from there so changing once/year is just personal preference. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it with that few miles. That's likely an $87k+ car brand new so $69k seems like a bargain. You can probably find a 1LZ brand new for $69k though so if it bothers you, move on.

To provide a comparison. I just bought what you are looking at. Torch Red and PDR. Brand new $72,500. That was a real good deal for a new one. So that seems like a pretty good deal to me. Go for it.

I bowed out. Dealer confirmed they can find no proof oil/filter was changed. Its not worth the risk to me. If anyone is interested the car is at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis TN.

I NEVER had ANYONE change the oil on ANY of my Corvettes that I've ever owned (on my 5th now). Never had a problem trading or selling them either. At that mileage I would not turn my nose up to it because of no documented oil changes.

I always do my own as well. Keep detailed records and receipts. But this is a roughly $15,000 motor and the first oil change was either never done or no records to indicate it was done. The owner is dead in the water if the engine blows and GM doesn’t want to cover the warranty.
I don’t want that hanging over my head. There will always be another car for sale. Yes I am being picky. 70 large is a lot of money.
