Default Mass sensor

Hello dear experts,

I was wondering if someone could tell me which of these sensor is required for the z06. Mine is equipped with the GM performance CAI and WeaponX intake tube.

In the past I replaced the Mass sensor on my C5

Do you know which one is the one I need?

Have you emailed/called them? Either the link or Granatelli themselves?

I may have missed it but why arent you running the original GM MAF sensor?
It is a heck of lot cheaper.

I was told that an upgraded sensor helps to optimize an upgraded CAI system

I wont argue against what you were told.

There are a few things to keep in mind when upgrading the CAI system.
Does the CAI manufacturer say a tune is not required?
If they say no this means they built the CAI to have acceptable fuel trims and so forth with the stock OEM MAF sensor.

If a tune is required then you can still use the stock OEM MAF sensor because a proper tune will correctly map and correct the MAF error. created by the CAI.

Now if the CAI manufacturer says yes you need a tune, otherwise you will need to use one of these calibrated aftermarket MAF sensors .......then they are telling you the after market MAF sensor is calibrated for their CAI. AND their CAI isn't made to maintain acceptable fuel trims with the stock MAF sensor without a tune.

Lastly a verification by data log and possibly a "touch up tune" are always desired for any modification weather its required or not.
This is one way to verify safety and to optimize the engine to take advantage of the changes and get that last few hp out of the set up.
However if the CAI is by a reputable maker and they say a tune isn't required then you should be fine without a tune.
