Hey guys, for those of you running on a flex fuel sensor and stock pumps, are you mixing your ethanol with race fuel? I typically get my E40-E45 mixture with 93 octane but I was just told that it might help to add some 110 octane race fuel. I'm not really sure how that helps since my tune is looking for ethanol content.
If you are still getting timing pulled due to knock sensors, OR arent able to run max timing for peak power/tq, then 110 mixed in would help but may require a retune.
Unless you are knocking on E40 (E85 is 105 octane, E40 is around 98 octane) I would not mix in any other high octane gasoline. As mentioned it will require a retune since it will throw the stoich ratio off.
My tune is set to run on anything between 91 pump and E55. I typically run between E45 and E50 by mixing (at the pump) around a 50%/50% mix of 91 pump and E85. Sometimes it's a bit higher than E50 and sometimes a bit lower. Once you get the ratios right in your head, it's easy to calc without much effort.

This is what I do as well. I'm just trying to figure out if throwing 110 into the mix is even worthwhile?
Similar, I'm tuned for E40, achieve that by mixing 93 pump and C85. I do throw in some race gas on occasion just for peace of mind / "safety" on my track days, only if I have some on hand. Not s show stopper to me by anymeans. 93 + your E85 cocktail is just fine!

Alcohol fuel is superior to race fuel for most applications
The only reason to add some racing-gasoline style fuels is if your injectors or fuel pumps are maxing out and you need the higher energy content per unit volume that gasoline fuels provide
Waste of money to mix 110 race fuel. E40-E45 is plenty enough octane and superior cooling to race fuel. Adding race fuel to Ethanol will net you nothing on your setup.
