2017 3LZ black Interior here with about 14,000. Because of this known issue we have been super careful especially since we keep the car out in the desert. So, it is either parked under a shade tree or has the reflecting windscreen in place or on days over 110F I usually take the car cover in case I can’t find a shady spot to park. If a under cover parking lot is within 2 blocks of our destination, I’ve resigned to walking just to be safe. Driving out to the desert tonight and I’ll double check on this issue and report back. Knock on wood I think it’s OK. 🤞🏻
Checked and found OK. No issues so far & no cracked wheels etc. etc. etc. Fingers crossed again...
Yeah, the sun Beats The HELL out of your dash, especially if it's blk.. I think Chevrolet could've done better job with this issue considering how much the Z cost , you get what you pay for, and nobody paid for this BS!!

"Yes. The ones with the issue are in the minority, but there are enough with the issue that there are multiple threads about it here."
Thread links?
Was it repaired/replaced under warranty, and what was the down time?
My '15 Z07 has this issue too. I'm the second owner, as good as it was maintained, don't believe it sat outside a lot. Mine is always in the garage, while my little Toyota Corolla stays outside.
It bothers me, maybe eventually I'll look into getting it fixed.

Thanks!
several have had it repaired under warranty. I see yours is a 2018. Is the B2B warranty still in effect? If it is, take it in before it expires. I have a 2LZ, so I haven’t saved any links. Try an advanced search using terms like 3LZ dash, defrost dash separation, etc.
Good luck. It’s an expensive repair. Hopefully yours is still under warranty.
I own a 2018 Z51 3LT. My dash looked like that around the vents and had "bubbles" everywhere. Fortunately, my bumper to bumper warranty was still good and covered the cost of repair. Some sources I've read state that the cost is at a minimum $3,000. Assuming you're going to get a replacement, be sure that your service advisor or tech carefully inspects the new dash before installation. My service advisor had to order three replacements before he found one that looked perfect. Due to a tech shortage, it took 5 days to complete the repair. It was definitely worth it!🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
I forgot to mention, the process requires entirely dismantling the dashboard. That includes the console and steering wheel. It's a big job. My concern was that with all of the dash internals being disturbed that I would experience rattles or squeaks when reassembled. Fortunately, the tech did a great job and I haven't had any problems.

Heres a story. My Jeep GC High Altitude had a dash peeling issue. Outside of warranty. What did Chrysler do for me? Replaced it as goodwill, other than $100 bucks out of pocket which, to me, was more than fair. I dont know why GM is so stubborn about some of this stuff. If you produce crap, then make it right!
Sorry Pit!
I just noticed mine. Not sure how long it's been like that. Lol

i have a 2019 that I ordered and took delivery in July 2018 so it’s effectively 3 years old. I just checked and my dash still looks new so hopefully the GM fix for this was successful. They also fixed the Z06 side vent panels as well with new clips that prevent the paint chips in the corners.
I hope it stays this way as I luv my 3LZ Adrenaline Red interior.

My 16 3LZ in brownstone looks like that. Unfortunately, it also has started delaminating (bubbling) all over the leather dash, both over the cluster and in front of the passenger. Very visible and looks like crap. Out of warranty, so not looking to put large $ into cosmetics, but disappointing. Car has 23k miles and sits under cover without direct sun exposure.
The 2018 Z06 I am buying has the same issue. The dash is being replaced before I make the buy. Beautiful car, shame Chevy didn’t do it right the first time.

I know.
I found a pic of my dash from March of 2020 and it was perfect.
The warranty (which is through Chevy) gave an initial response to the service writer that it is "cosmetic" and not covered. REALLY?
The service manager is now stepping up to the plate. Waiting to hear back about it now.
I just noticed mine a few weeks ago, so in about a year or so it progressed to the current state.
I opened a case with Chevy customer service but I am not holding my breath.
Still waiting for the service manager to make progress with the warranty.

So GM has offered to split the cost with me to replace the dash. That's the best I could get.
I'll probably go ahead and do it, but I'm not racing over to the dealership just yet.
It will cost me $1350 out of pocket and they'll likely have the car for 2 days.
The GM rep said if I did the repairs they'd likely give me some accessory credits for close to the amount I spend out of pocket, but I'd believe that when I see it.
