Default Ported Supercharger Problems

I recently finished installing a Kong ported Supercharger & Snout, 2.3 Upper Pulley & a Soler Performance 103mm Throttle Body. When I started the car up, I instantly got a "Power Reduced" Message & check engine light. The RPMs seem to surge while the car is on. I checked all the sensors & ensured they were properly connected. The code I received for the check engine light is P0106 & P0107. The car is scheduled to be tuned in about a week, but in the current state - not sure if I can even make it to the shop. There is definitely more air in the coolant reservoir than 2 quarters, so my next step was going to be bleeding the coolant - but the code doesn't seem to have anything to do with that.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically the TMAP sensor on the back of the supercharger near the firewall is either unplugged or you have clipped a wire that goes to the connector for it.
The P0107 tells us the reference voltage of .5 volts is not what it should be.

Check that area and let us know what you find.

Unplugged the sensor & plugged it back in. Check engine light is still on, but the "Power Reduced" message has disappeared. About a tenth of a mile into my test drive, my traction control light turned on, auto rev match turned off & the car began to misfire. Turned the car off and waited about 10 minutes. Turned it back on & it was fine. Limped it back home, but it still had a high rev hang the entire time I was idling. Averaging around 1,500-2,000 RPMs.

Those codes point to the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor which is located at the rear of the SC just under the hood opening flange on the driver's side of the engine. Check to make sure the connector to module B65 is seated correctly and locked in place. If it is locked in place you may need to unlock and disconnect it and determine if one of the circuits is open or shorted. Note the comment that ECM damage can occur if the sensor is shorted to B+ (12V). Make sure the wire going to the connector isn't damaged or pinched. Make sure the pins on both sides of the connector are making good contact with their mating portion.

Attempt to clear the codes.

What active codes do you have now?
The P0106 and P0107 may be gone but I suspect you will have other codes.

We need those please sir.

You are correct. 2 new codes. P1516 & P2101. While the original codes are still there, I don't seem to be having the same issue with that.

Those 2 codes tell us the Throttle actuator connector is loose or not plugged in.
Reseat it and see what you get.

You should be good to go.

FYI surging and backfiring are indicative of a vacuum leak.

Double check you intake to throttle body seal and the vacuum connections to the supercharger.
If its vacuum related the P017x codes will come up but it can take a few minutes for the ECM to realize the leak is out of range.

I forgot to add these codes have to be cleared with a scanner or otherwise before the reduced power and other symptoms will clear.

Point is after you double check all of your connectors and for vacuum leaks, clear all of the codes.
Then test run the engine at idle, and if all is well, drive her again. Pull the codes again after the engine run or test drive.

Vac leak… also why the RPMs are hanging.. computer pulling timing to reduce the idle.. if you let it run long enough the exhaust will start glowing

I plan on checking all the connectors & re-seating my throttle body connection as well. My scanner will be here today, so I can clear all the codes & give it another try. I'll report back once I give it a shot.

I've had this happen to one of my clients before. Turned out the 107mm TB was scraping on the bore. Check that the throttle body opens and closes properly without getting stuck and look for any visible spots where the blade may be getting hung up. You might need to reach out to the TB maker and ask for an exchange. Those 107's are sweet but they are still working the kinks out. I have a client with a Jokers full tilt port (allegedly better than kong x port), a Soler 107, all the bolt ons and pullied to ~18.5lbs. Car MOVES OUT.

Anyway, point is, that could be the throttle body causing your issues.

Took the throttle body off this morning & noticed the connector only has 5 pins whereas the throttle body has 6. Is this normal or could that be causing my issue?
