Default Memory seats

I just bought a 2018 Z06 3LZ, now I have the memory seats set but when I press the ignition button my seat doesn't go to my preset, I have to move seat forward a inch and than hold the memory button down to get to my setting. I've watched video and done what they say and still won't go to my setting when press ignition. What am I doing wrong?

It's a common issue. You need to have the "Easy Exit" setting not completely back. It needs to be a half inch or more from full rear travel. There are limits set in the computer. It's mentioned in the owners manual but easy to forget.
On my 19 Z06 the memory seems to drift a bit as well. I have to reset the exit settings about once a month to keep it working.

The rear bulkhead of the passenger compartment has a limit switch built into it that shuts the seat off it tries to press against the bulkhead. As mentioned above set the easy exit a half inch ahead of the bulkhead. You may have to play with a combination of how far back the seat moves and the angle of the seat back to get it where you want it but it is easy to do, Make sure you set each key fob to the same setting unless you actually have two regular drivers, that way you know you don't have multiple settings if you grab the wrong key.

If it stops working again check behind the seat to see if something is between the seat and the bulkhead.

I do have the easy exit set more than a inch from completely back. It's not the exit Thays the issue, it's when turn ignition on, my seats doesn't move forward to my preset. I'll try what ur saying again but Thays what I'm doing now.

are you sure you set the preset right?
You have to push the button on the left and hear a beep, and then the preset number you want to use and then you'll hear two beeps I think.
The car has to be in park too I'm pretty sure.
I know I messed around with mine for a bit before I got all the steps right.

If it's a M7, you have to set the parking brake first, then push the ignition switch without depressing the clutch to get the seat to go to the preset position. After the seat starts to move, step on the brake and release the parking brake and depress the clutch to start.

Yeah, the memory settings are frustrating.

Do you have the correct key fob? Try the other fob (DIC should indicate which fob# it detects) or set both memory #1 and #2 to the same position.

Just be patient and run through the settings again:

- turn memory recall OFF
- turn easy exit OFF
- run the seat all the way back and move forward half an inch or so
- press SET (one beep) then EXIT (two beeps) (2014 does not beep when you press SET)
- move to desired position
- press SET (one beep) then #1 or #2 (two beeps)
- turn memory recall ON (AT IGNITION ON for 2014 after software update PI1245)
- turn easy exit ON
- memory recall works with motor running in PARK (auto) or PARKING BRAKE SET (M7)

^no, I have a manual too and you don't have to do that.
You can just start it right away with the brake on, and once it starts the seat will move up to position.

I do not do it that way though because it sucks when the seat is all the way back. You basically have to lay down to reach the clutch and start it.
What I do is:
Get in, push the start button once without touching any pedals at all or the parking brake switch, nothing.
That makes the seat move up into driving position
Then I push in the clutch and start it.
Then release parking brake.

Hint - push the start button without clutch and car will recall memory positions. Then press brake and clutch to start.

This all comes from the issue of GM not wanting the seat to be moving with a manual transmission car (due to liability) - and it makes sense, if a smaller person got into a car with the seat forward for them, pushed the clutch in and then started the car; if the seat then moved back, they could lose contact with the clutch. I'm sure that there are other scenarios where

My C6 Z06 (manual (all C6 Z06 's were manual) worked the same way.

With an automatic, the car just needs to be in park for the auto seat to move when starting.
