I have a 2016 Z06/Z07 C7.R 7 speed manual in yellow, all still original. I'm curious to know how the special edition corvettes hold up in value compared to standard corvettes of similar spec, and at what point do they tend to stop depreciating in value and start to increase again? I just purchased mine in October, while searching for probably 4 or 5 months prior to that. Now that i own one, im seeing people selling C7.Rs for 10k to 15k more than what I bought for. I know lots of people are asking stupid money for corvettes at the moment.
Does anyone have any insight?

Even with the crazy prices Corvette's in general are selling for I think it's a little early for these to go up very much just yet. That's just my opinion.

I agree, I'm just curious if anyone who has owned a special edition has insight into when their started to go up again.
I doubt the price increase was due to any higher desirability of the R model. My 2015/Z06/Z07 3LZ has increased $10K+ since October of last year. In October of last year, I was using KBB Private Party price info when purchasing track insurance. In April of this year, I purchased track insurance again. The mileage on the car had gone up by only 1500 miles but in the time interval from October to April, the KBB prices rose $10K.
As for the R model overall collectability that is hard to tell. Basically, all the R model is an appearance package. There is nothing mechanically or structurally different about the car from any other similarly equipped C7 Z that doesn't have the appearance package.
