Wow thanks for the update it is good to learn, I thought it was similar to the CF roof panel where it is one piece that has painted sections. Looks like they cut a section of the hood and insert the portion of CF with a nice weave on it for appearance. I wonder if there are any shops capable of doing the same thing and can match the OEM quality.
I think my local wrap guys could put a CF looking decal in the right location and it look pretty good. They have been doing my sponsor decals and other needs for years now. They are very good. Look them up on FB Moody Blue Design's. We have been friends for many years. Let me know if you are interested and want help getting in touch with them, but FB is usually a great way to contact them. They covered my mirrors, A pillars & rear spoiler in CF looking wrap and most people can't tell the difference. my old combo when I was running in Optima Ultimate Street Car current look
1st even the painted Z06 hoods are all made out of Carbon Fiber. You had 2 options on the Z06 hood, fully painted or exposed CF in the are of the hood from the cowl down to the hood vent. The hood vent was only offered in Carbon Flash as a color.
As said if you want the exposed CF you either have to buy a new hood, find a used one or maybe strip your hood and have them mask off the area and repaint and then leave the CF exposed. Either way all of those options are pretty expensive to just get some exposed CF on the hood.

That is a GM Hood it was an option on the Z06, it has a Carbon Fiber insert in the hood. The GM Jake Decal was also an option not included with the Hood

I thought that was the case, but I wasn't certain. My 16 Z06 has the insert, but I really think these vinyl wrap guys can make a decal that looks just as good.
I would agree, have them wrap it around the hood and under at the scoop and top, the Jake decal wraps around on the top and bottom it was a pain when applying but looks great. If you zoom in on the picture you can see what I mean
Google search Corvette C7 Stingray Z06 Stinger Hood Decal Stripe Kit 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 then select Carbon fiber for finish.
Not sure if you can put a decal on this but you could then get the Jake Decal to on it

The option the O/P is indeed referring to the section of the hood, above the hood grill that is finished in real carbon fiber. It was available as a option for the first time in 2016 and was a $2k option that I ordered on my Z06, because I am a carbon fiber nut. I then had to find an aftermarket vendor that offered the grill in grill finished in carbon fiber to match the insert.
At one time, I looked up the part from a online gm parts vendor, and I believe the replacement part was about $8k.
