Hey guys, I just had my 15 Z06 leave me stranded for the first time in 39K miles. I was on it fairly hard for about 10-15 seconds coming up through some corners. Shifted back to drive and all seemed fine. I thought I smelled a little burning rubber but no smoke or lights on the dash. About 2 minutes later I started to hear a new "chirping" noise from what sounded like underneath of the car. I shifted up into neutral to see if the noise would change and it didn't seem to? I tried limping it home but then the car shut off and now it will not restart. It clicks once when I try. Battery connections are good and the belts are in tact.
The burning rubber smell could be the serpentine belt. Remove serpentine belt and see if Alternator or A/C compressor is seized up.If they spin, then check to see if the crank turns.
Supercharger pulley is seized. Even tried unbolting the pulley and it won't budge. Thankfully it's not my crank! Now I have to find out if it damaged my blower.
New battery last year. Checks out fine. No lights on the dash.
My buddy thinks I spun a crank bearing. I sure hope not. Ugh!
That's exactly what happened in my 16 Z06 when the reciprocating assembly seized-up. Hope that's not what happened to yours. Mine was so bad we couldn't even save the block.
