Hello
i have problem with my 16' Z06. My ECM not responding and can't start car. Diagnostic tools say ECM not reposponding - no fuel level reading, no start car etc.
ECM is good, i buy new - but the same situation. Battery new.
nope, i just put in but is exactly the same situation - no fuel level, the same situation on diagnostics tool etc.
If ECM is gone and i put second, used, propably car dont start or start for 2 sec and diagnostic tool see EMC and another modules donts show - no communication with ECM.
You cant swap ECM's like that, they are VIN tied to each VIN. If this is a brand new ECM it wont even have a OS/Firmware on it as they have to be flashed via a dealer program to install the OS onto the new ECM. Your only option is to see if a local dealer can flash the ECM you have now with the correct OS/Firmware for your VIN.
I think i can. Any other cars what i have when you change ECU, they start or not but diagnostics tool see him. Here is no communication both. The same situation, so cant be broken ECU.
ECU/ECM i have from another Z06 so he dont hane only VIN and immo key - cant start car or start for 2 sec etc but diagnostics should see second ECM, must be connection, fuel guage must show level etc.

This isnt other cars, the C7 wont start or run with a ECM from another car. The ECM is VIN tied to the vehicle. It may also require the RKE module (key fobs) to be re-synced to the ECM as well in order for the car to start. You seem to be over your head. I would take the vehicle to someone who knows what they are doing or back to the dealer.
