ZR1 Sebring Orange design package option content question
Can any of you Corvette experts tell me what the DW9 blackout roof decal is on the Sebring Orange Design package ZR1 coupe? It shows as a required option, but I also know the visible carbon fiber roof is standard equipment and is shown in all of the press photos and on the display vehicle in Dubai. I've studied all the pictures and I can't figure it out? Thanks in advance for your input.

The designers thought having a continous CF surface from the removable roof to the rear window would look better than having the body color break it up where rear of the roof stops and the back window. This has been called the roof bow area where the structure is. SO in the design package they added a dark decal to cover up the body paint color.

As of yet none of us have seen the DW9 option.

Mr. Elegant, you actually have seen the DW9 option before. It is standard on the Carbon 65 Edition Coupes, which we saw at the Bash this past April. I found the following photo online that shows the option fairly well. (For those not sure of where the blackout decal is, it's the black decal between the targa top and the rear glass over the halo.)
Note: the Sebring Orange Design Packaged Dubai Reveal Coupe had the DW9 option on it prior to the reveal, but someone, somewhere, removed it!

I decided to fill in the halo on the Dubai Coupe. Here are the without DW9 and with DW9 images...

In the order guide it says the DW9 option is:
I don't know how precise this prototype model is, but it appears to have the DW9 option, although it has a black rear spoiler below the wing, and don't believe the ZR1 will have that, and it seems to be missing other stuff like the Sebring Orange accents on the sideskirts - so whether the prototype model's DW9 is correct or not I dunno!?!?
.
1 - Included and only available with (ZLZ) ZR1 Sebring Orange Design Package.

Mr. McGinley, it's great to see you on CorvetteForum! Are you ordering a ZR1?

Thanks for all of the information on the DW9 Blackout Roof decal. After the 1st reply I went back to the Dubai pictures and video and didn't see the decal. Thanks for the photo shop work to add one back in and the Carbon example that includes the DW9. I agree with whoever removed it from the Dubai car, it looks better without it.
Steve, yes I am strongly considering the Sebring Orange Design Package ZR1. I know about the rumors of the 850hp mid-engine, and I'll watch the Detroit Auto Show to see if there are any surprises. My experience with GM launches tells me that the 850hp version of the mid engine car will be a few years from now after they roll out the base, the Z06, and the GS. The good news is the 1st ZR1 orders don't need to go in until after we know what happens in Detroit. Hopefully the Sebring Orange Design package won't be constrained to start and can be built in the 1st cycle.

I suggested to Harlan in April, 2013 that there would be a DW9 (of course not callling it that), evening creating before and after pictures and sharing them.
Guess, LOL, it took a while to become reality...
