Default Don't be stupid, get the big wing (moose antlers) for the performance! ;)

Maxed Autobaun, mile, and 1/2 mile have small wing performance considerations!

Simple Dynamic Palatable Mods!
  1. Ride height
  2. Alignment
  3. Tires (SS's for the street!)
  4. Rear Wings (even Aftermarket if necessary - Done!)
  5. (~80HP 100oct race intake and exhaust!)
They won't hurt the warranty None!

It looks like the wings screw in from the top. Something smaller should become available. If it doesn't align custom adapter/stand-off plates for the smaller wing are feasible for light duty.
There also is an old ZR1 type trim spoiler remaining if you just removed it.
The front underwing end caps are removable too.

GM has said the active aero doesn't really work so your not missing anything there! The top Ring cars are evidence of that!

And the big ZO7 thing always has looked Cheesy!

(I remembered this Shark name and found it from probably 10-12 years ago that way, amazing!?)
The Viper's is nicer too!

Francois Cevert didn't like the wing on his Formula 1 car, either. He took it off trying to gain an advantage, went out and promptly crashed and died.

Audi had to add a spoiler onto one of it's lower powered sports cars because it was starting to spin off the autobahn at pretty nominal speeds and the cross section of the car looks a lot like a wing.

The nose of the ZR1 has some aero tweaks to balance the wing, so if you remove the rear wing without doing anything else it might be about the same thing as putting fresh Cup 2's on the front while leaving 6 year old, dry-rotted, bald tires on the back and then heading for an off-ramp at triple the posted limit.

Check out Jackie Stewart's analysis of this crash shortly after it happened. They drove identical cars.

Not if you're going 55 (even though you're in the fast lane) on the way to car & coffee.

It was the original TT. A car with 220hp.

I just can't wrap my brain around this. Why are people spending the money on this package, then bitching about the wing and talking about how they're going to compromise the car by removing it? Either skip the ZTK package or buy a Z06 and put a bigger blower on it if you want ZR1 horsepower.

Are there Viper guys who intentionally bought the Extreme Aero package and then whined about how it was ugly?

Racing back then was very similar to combat flying as far as the mortality rate went. I saw Stewart drive at Road Atlanta in a Can Am race. He appeared to be visibly faster than anybody else through the esses even though he was driving what was probably not a competitive car.

It's just that some folks don't understand the Big *** Rear Wing is a functional part of the car.

I think some people just want to click all the option boxes so they can have "the best", not realizing they're actually doing themselves a disservice if they're never actually going to track the car. Cup tires will wear out fast on real roads and the wing will just get in the way. If you take the wing off and replace the tires, there was no point in ordering a ZTK car to begin with.

It's like people with Z51s complaining about the ride. Well, you bought the track package. What did you think was going to happen?

You have a point.
I guess some people have to learn the hard way.

Default Better and Better! ;)

Today I've found the C7R has magnesium rims. Wouldn't magnesium be great with the ZR1's Cups exclusively for the track too! Easy Bolt-on (AND OFF!) Performance!

*Again, give me a GM A/B calibration switch (not possible because of the spring rates) and their wing swap!

Of course I wll be driving the car verrrrrrrry slowly and only to cars and coffee in perfect conditions so I don't spin my Cup2s I had no idea were so sticky

Default Congrats! ;)

But, those pantry filling runs without that teen allure in that parking lot!
MPG is a measureable performance metric too!

Dynamic is the operative word here!
Just saying, and I want it all!

I think he's trying to say that the 488 Pista doesn't use wings to achieve (relatively)high downforce. I don't know why he can't condense that into a simple sentence.

He says more and more exotics aren't paying the price of having a big wing but the ZR1, GT2/3RS, AMG GT-R(and upcoming Black Series), Huracan Performante, Aventador SV(and upcoming Performante), Huayra BC, etc. say otherwise.
