You have more guts than I do - I have been to Sebring to watch IMSA Weathertech racing (rooting for the Corvettes of course), but after watching them bounce around the cement track, I can't bring myself to do a track day there. I am tempted to try Daytona, but this ZR1 is so darn fast, I'm a little concerned about going nearly 200 mph on the bank. Guess I'm just getting to cautious in my old age

Let me help you a little about Daytona. I took my ZR1 there and ran the Rolex 24 configuration. That was absolutely the safest track I've ever driven on. It just stuck and no feelings of loss of control at all. I would go back there in a NY minute. It was awesome. I ran the low lane right beside the yellow stripe around it.

What speeds did you get to on the long banked section?

176. And then Hard on the brakes for the bus stop and into the infield part of the track. If they had let us use the entire roval I think I could have hit 200 or darn close to it.
My ZR1 is completely stock and that was on AS/3's tires.

I'm confused; for the track days at Daytona they don't use the same configuration as the Rolex 24?

Yes, look at post 183. I stated that it was the same. I just think if they had allowed us just to run the tri-oval I might have seen 200. It probably would take between 2 or 3 laps to get to it though.

Okay, I get it. But isn't there a long stretch of banked track after the bus stop that lets you get high end speed? What speed did you get to on that stretch of track?

What was your best launch technique? Tire psi? What mode/mode setting?

Best launch technique was to just mash the throttle. Tyres were 26psi cold. Driver mode was burnout and launch both in Tour mode with traction completely off. Burnout in 2nd and 3rd gear. The quarter mile run in drive. Next time I’ll try the run in sport mode and second gear start I think. I don’t think the car retains its powershift function in Tour mode.

I have an M7 ZR1 and the best I’ve run so far is 11.40 @126mph at Atco in +3000DA with a 1.87 60ft time. Hot humid day (90 degrees). Definitely not ideal conditions. Sadly that’s slower than my stock M7 Z06 (11.26 @126mph) ran in worse DA!!

Here’s my question...I ran the 11.40 on worn out 4K mi Cup 2’s that we’re pretty much gone. I’m in the process of replacing the tires...if I went with MPSS would they still be considered a ‘stock’ tire for the ‘list?’

I think so, yes.

I ran a 10.13 on AS/3's, but I don't think anyone is keeping up this list any more so I didn't ask or post the details.

Was just now seeing this Video, great pass but it you could have held it in 4th to delay the shift into 5th I think you'd have made an 8 second pass. Killer pass.

Man that was a great pass, ran almost identical to my Gen6 Magnuson 2650 Camaro. Congrats.

I ran my ZR1 on Daytona a couple years ago. That's the fastest safest feeling track I have ever been on. The ZR1 just gets in the groove and begs for more throttle. We were running the 24 Hour race configuration, so we had to slow down for the bus stop on the back straight and run through the infield. I'd go again in a New York minute if I got another chance. Go if you can. You won't regret it. If they had let us run the entire oval I think I could possibly hit 200 mph there. Awesome track!!!

I know the runs aren't being kept up, but are any of yall getting better times and mph after getting some more miles on your cars? I'm seeing performance that used to only happen in much better conditions than it normally has done. I'm at approximately 42 K and the cars really picked up. I only get to run 1/8th most of the time, but I'm getting. .2 or .3 better et's and 2 to 4 mph that I used to get.
