Default Oil pressure

I was curious what oil pressures everyone is seeing at idle and cruising. I see right at 30 at idle. The reason I ask is my c6 zr1 was higher. I realize that 30 psi is more than enough at idle but just looking for a reference point.

^^^
Temperature will have a great effect on the pressure, as viscosity of the oil...

I’m aware. Colder temp should be higher. In 50 degree weather and cold idle im 30. You are right too about the viscosity but both are comparable. I was running 10w40 in my old one and I believe the new one comes with 0w40( May be wrong on that). I’m sure all is fine but was just wondering what numbers others were seeing.

The 10w40 oil will act like SAE 10 when cold, the 0w40 oil will act like SAE 0 when cold, so the 10x40 will have higher pressure when cold, but about the same as the 0w40 when hot.
I would compare the pressures at normal operating temperatures after your 500 mile oil change. Don't have my C7 ZR1 (yet ), so refer actual numbers for others to supply.

With the 0w-40, we see around 30psi. Do not worry if it is caught in the high 20s either. This is normal range for the C7 with their pump.

Thank you. That’s what I suspected but glad to know for sure.

C7 went to a variable pump so it will be different from the C6.

I didn't take that into consideration and that makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
