A8 problem or inherent
Is anyone experiencing this on their ZR1 A8 ??
Under normal driving, Second gear "FREE WHEELS" below 3000 RPM, Any mode, D or M ! It appears to have gas fed to engine, so very little compression to slow down...above 3000 rpm, the engine slows the car.
2nd gear is the only gear that acts like that. My 2016 C7.R A8 does not act like this. Could this be a software problem? OR ?

You know, it sounds a lot like what you might want on the track. After a tight turn in you would probably want 2nd since 1st gear is never very useful even in a slow turn. A good amount of throttle in 1st while turning could be very, very interesting not counting the fact of some very high RPM in short order.

Having a 2019 Stingray with the A8, had me look into this transmission issue. Understand the A8 is in a lot of other GM products, even if not in a transaxle style application. Here's a fact that I can't let go and that is, it's not all A8's, just some of them and then it seems to have stopped at 2017 or during 2017. 2018 looks fine and 2019 seems to be okay but really too soon to honesty say one way or the other. However, it's not all A8's and my feeling is, one of the manufactures of the torque converters and I'm confident to say there are more than 1 company that build them for GM. Which would explain why some and not all have and had issues. and also likely why no recall was done because GM is sorting out the bad ones from X factory.
Of course I could be wrong but I don't think so.

I have the issue in multiple lower gears of my ZR (900 miles). I have not yet bitched it yet, but when I do it would be extremely helpful to have some additional information.
Thanks a mill - Kev
