Tesla's catching fire and being very difficult to extinguish is a know fact. Goggle all you want. Everything burns if you get it hot enough. EV's have issues that are not fully engineered out of the equation, same can be said for IC cars. If I had an EV, it would only park in doors if in a garage detached from my house. Low tolerance for that type of risk however small the probability. In that pic above it appears that the car is burning from back to front. I am sure the forensic engineers will learn from this event.

You can keep your battery powered toys in the closet next to the legos and Batman figures.

I am skeptical of either the picture, or the denial of electrified drivetrain. supplier rumored to be Bosch?

I can't speculate what the burned up components would look like other than I have seen steel tire cords left over after a fire. But the Stingray wheels are inconsistent with the E-Ray photos we've seen so far and the exhaust could be due to emissions testing equipment or, perhaps, something related to the particulate filter for European cars.

Except it was NOT an E-Ray:

Maybe one day they will stop being so anxious to be FIRST, and instead concentrate on being RIGHT

AutoInsuranceEZ studied the frequency of fires—from all causes, including collisions—in automobiles in 2021. It found that hybrid vehicles, which have an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, had the most fires per 100,000 vehicles (3475), while vehicles with just an internal combustion engine placed second (1530 per 100,000). Fully electric vehicles had the fewest: 25 per 100,000. These findings were based on data from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

It is rather sad that there are so many posts here crapping on electric tech. If the E-Ray comes in at the price point of where the Z06 should have, 90k, then I'll go with that; I'm curious what the mpg will be (for range reasons; carbon footprint is not a driving factor for me).

I read the article. Did not say Anything about the cause of the fire OR that he even owned and EV? Also, not sure what you are talking about on one of those "brand new high - end EV sedans"? 2 years ago I am pretty much sure the only EV's fitting high end sedan category would be the Tesla S or the Porsche Taycan - only the Porsched would qualify as "brand new". Haven't heard of any unusual problems with either of them.
