Indeed word is that Tadge has been extremely busy these days matching or besting the curb weight in the square below.

Not easy at all! .. stretch goal. Good number if they can do it without sacrificing performance.

Hybrids gonna hybrid my man; if you're looking for a lightweight, I'd suggest a Lotus Emira at 3200 lbs.

The battery pack will push the GVW well over 4k.

Posting the US Curb weight of the McLaren Artura. Obviously this one will be a bridge too far for the Eray price point.

A bridge too far, and price is just one obstacle. The Artura shows what a design team can do when all design targets pivot around lightness. Interestingly, to compare ice-versus-ice, if you strip away the motor and batteries, you're left with 577hp and a tick over 3000 pounds. GM engineers could definitely achieve this, but not even at extra cost when every design target pivots around parts bins and extra feature sets in order to maximize profits. I can't argue that it's a bad strategy for GM because it isn't, it's just a major philosophical difference.
so we have a 3300 lb hybrid Arturo for 232000 dollars
the Ferrari 296 is around 3600 and costs over 300 grand.
both of which do zero to sixty in about 2.9 seconds.
or we can buy the awd Eray corvette which should weigh in around 39xx pounds at a cost of approximately 90 grand and accelerates to sixty mph in 2.4 seconds.
obviously the service requirements of the Eray will be superior from an ownership experience in my opinion.
im very intrigued with the Eray .
(edit) and with two trunks and a roof that comes off standard no less. I dig roof off driving.
let’s see the cost and more importantly the weight of the convertibles or targa s so we can compare apple s to apples not oranges

With the weight of the Z06 in the 3700 pound neighborhood, I don't see the eRay coming in below 2 tons. Curious that it is getting the wide body treatment, losing those extra wide rear wheels and 345s is an easy way to drop some pounds. I can see why though when you think about an electric motor powering the front wheels, you want more than the petite Stingray 245s up front. If GM nails the software with this thing, it should be an absolute riot from a dig.
