Since the car was pretty much just sitting we decided to pull the engine, we were just going to do heads but it turns out there is one bolt on the left side that you cannot remove without dropping the engine... Thanks GM.
So since the engine is down it seemed like a good time to work on the clutch situation, so that is getting beefed up as I type.
We thought about doing rods and pistons while we are here but not 100% on that yet. We still want to know how far we can push the stock engine with the turbo kit so we are 50/50 on that.
And since all of this is being done... we are going to put the turbo kit on when it goes back in and play with the piggyback options. Not what we were hoping for, you can't CARB cert piggyback stuff, but it seems we have no other options.

I know having to use a piggyback isn't ideal, but it moves things along while we wait for other options.
As for the internals, I would look at what percentage of your customer cars have been stock internal builds. Probably most of them, I would assume. IMO it makes sense to start there.
Thanks for all the research, guys!

A little teaser pic for your Friday viewing pleasure. Oh did I mention that we have a single unit tuning method in the works? We have an engine management system being produced to work specifically with our kit and the factory computer. Being that the cats are in the stock location and the vehicle runs off of the stock computer we think we will be fine with CARB cert, but we are working on that also.

Looks good @DOUG @ ECS but those headers are crying out to be cast inconel!
Our goal is to have packages ready to go from stock levels to 1000 plus, we are designing the low side fuel system now, clutch upgrades, engine packages as so on.
I could kick myself for not just getting right into the tuning on our end, but I really thought HP or GM was going to offer it. Now that we gave up on that the possibilities are endless for what we can do while still keeping the factory ECM happy along with all emission controls.

hey you at least need to go whop up on that little gal pulling over 1k. What are you considering for the piggy back.?
seems like if done right, the twin turbo system could run the stock ecm to go through emissions, and then you swap on an intake with another 8 injectors, another ecm, dual wide bands and let it eat.
so my big stoopid ?? is this. when the factory ecm sees more fuel coming, and then the WB starts to adjust down, seems like quite the dance!!!
Amelia doesn't really talk much tech other than they used a dominator holley as the piggy back.
so maybe some trickery is in order. Like something like an "02 emulator" in between the factory O2s that would feed the desired volts on command to the factory ecm and allow unfettered additional fueling and no phone home codes
"a sensor clamp" essentially would lie to the factory ecm under boost to allow the aftermarket piggy back to do all the fuel trimming.
looks like the parts for the tranny are coming, and someday maybe GM will get off their dead @$$ and start supporting the c8 potential and the tuners.
just sign a paper voiding GM warranty and any liability, done.
