I'm looking forward to what Magnuson produces before pulling the trigger on a supercharger. Any word on when we might hear something from them? It will be great to have multiple options.

I seriously doubt it.

I had no idea you guys were already talking about this all day yesterday when I excitedly posted the reveal video in the General section. Someone responded that McLeod Racing has come up with a performance DCT kit for the C8.....possibly $650 can handle up to 1000 hp.

Interesting, the Drag Illustrated article is way more detailed than the description on the McLeod website. $661.25. The real cost will be the labor to put everything in. Additionally the cost of stronger half shafts.

How are they tuning this thing? Even if they can trick the ECU to add fuel and reduce timing with a piggy back unit, what about the trans tuning? Throwing an extra 200 hp on an untuned & untested trans doesn't seem like a great idea. I am actually pretty surprised on how slow the after market has been to responding to the C8, and the reason I am on hold. Curious on the actual costs as well, as the days of slapping on a $6K Centrifugal kit and making 600 whp. are long gone.

No trans tuning, no timing retard, probably just using a sensor clamp like mentioned above to trick the car to add fuel. If it's good enough for procharger, it's good enough for me. Just waiting on price.

I'm surprised that Whipple Superchargers hasn't announced anything yet, their kits are second to none. My guess is that with the locked ECU they don't want to take any chances.

Is it that surprising though guys? The struggles with producing and delivering the 2020 models has to have had an impact on aftermarket products. Maybe we will get some progress now across the board since production is becoming normalized.

You are right, not surprising. We have just been spoiled over the years with supercharger kits available for new models before they even hit show room floors. Given the complete change of the platform and current supply situations it makes sense.

200HP @8PSI boost how long before the engine grenades and fills the oil sump with aluminum stew?

Ya I would be interested to see if the supercharger would fit for sure! Personally, I would go with twin turbo

The engine would have to come out to install this thing. Looks like it has a drive shaft from the front of the motor (behind the cabin) that will need some pulley's/bracket installed. Only way to get to that is drop the motor. $3K labor job atleast.

I'd personally spend my money on a TT setup instead. Superchargers don't really have a place on a ME car.

Just what we need more speculation, how about we let the manufacturer release the details before jumping to conclusions.

As if Procharger would sell a kit that would need an engine removal. Come on, get real...

You don't pull the engine with common hand tools.

Not “jumping to conclusions”.... just commenting on what I see. Relax a little.
