C8 Lingenfelter Owners Thread
Overall: Extremely satisfied with the build. Boost District definitely came through with an excellent product. I highly recommend anyone near Texas to go with Roshan and BD. The tour of their shop and the cars waiting in line, was almost as exciting as getting mine back.
**Sound** If you are like me, many of you have probably watched every video out there for the Lingenfelter C8s... you know "what" it is going to sound like, but you do not yet know how that sound "feels" as it resonates through your bones. The videos do not do these cars justice. It's an almost religious experience the first time you stomp it in PTM mode with the valves wide open.
Someone in a C7 convertible was behind us as we navigated through downtown Dallas. We had the top up in my car but the rear glass window down. I revved it to maybe 4.5k rpm with the valves open. When he came out of the tunnel, he passed us and held his hands up above his head out of his open top and clapped a bunch. His reaction kind of summed it up for us. My nephew rode back with me. we agreed with this guy, so if you are on here Mr. Red C7. We agree.
Launch: Still ridiculous, only somehow more so. First gear rips by so fast it seems like it's almost instantaneous. I did 4 or 5 launches between yesterday and today. It hooked up about like it did in stock form, some launches we would get some slip. Some none. The ones where it hooked felt like we might pop a wheelie. It pulls very hard, and unlike stock form... after 60 it keeps pulling. It never let up all the way to 110. Same slammed in the seat kind of feeling you guys all know too well.
Passing Gears: This is by far the biggest change, other than the sound. Stomping it at 65mph is like driving a C7 Z06 without the accompanying traction challenges. It goes. Quickly. It's really loud too. We went to pass an elderly couple pulling a large camper. I punched it mid-pass, and it just explodes to life. They were startled by the sound so much, the guy pulled fully into the shoulder for a second. It's weird to write all that, but that is what happened. It goes from being as quiet as stock to as loud as straight pipe instantly when stomped. We were in my cruising Zmode, so the exhaust was set to track, but everything else set to Sport mode type settings.
Looks: See for yourself.
HEAT: no issues with high temps, runs just like it did stock.
**BIG ONE** I went with Fabspeed headers w/their heat blankets. I was told by more than a few people not to do headers in a convertible. I can say that the Fabspeed folks were correct, with the blankets. It can be done. We drove twice top down, and i ran it very hard with the top down. 45 mins and 30 mins. When we put the top back up, the sueded roof was no more hot to the touch than in stock form. I am going to get a heat gun to actually take the measurements. I can confirm you can do the headers w/blankets and not having any crazy convertible heat risks. I also have the clear engine cover (unsure of brand)... I asked for the same one Ken Lingenfelter has, since I knew what his looked like. They obliged. $900 adder.
Brakes: I haven't really pounded the Girodisc brakes yet, so far feels like stock. Slight amount of chatter at times, but barely noticeable and I believe much quieter than the Alcon kit I was originally considering with this build.
Not sure what else to add right off the top.
Coming Soon: going to post a YouTube video of my car, up against a Stock 2023 Z06. My brother will be receiving his car in the next month, it was supposed to be here this week but the shutdowns have delayed it. We want to do some comparisons. QTR mile, 20roll, 50roll, etc... and see how they match up.

my guess is that its going to be neck and neck w/Z06. I'd bet they're virtually identical in terms of 0-60, 1/4 mile... I'd bet the Z will have an edge on a curvy track. Not sure yet though.
for the money, I think it's worth it. This kit on a 1LT would be huge bang for buck.
I'm so excited! Still contemplating the headers......
