I agree, probably around 2021 or 2022 before the C8 debuts. Will be interesting to see what they do come up with to keep the car alive and interesting to new and previous buyers.

Bad example. Two of these have V-8s.

I want to say the rumor has been around for much longer regardless.

No need to troll up this thread with a bad attitude. The discussion is half the fun.

I think we may have a mutual friend... Did he by chance used to work for another automaker?

Yes, in California.

Two things about the Corvette rumors that always stick in my mind. Dave Hill said about 15 years ago.......once you start pricing a car in the 100 or 200K range the buyers are very limited...........and Tadge said in the last year a mid engine could be a better track car but on the street not so much. Would be hard to overcome the all around drivability of the prior models that have set that standard.

While I agree in general, the Audi R8 seems to have no drivability problems and gets good write ups all around. And using GM hydroform technology, a mid engined frame would be very easy to produce, But I would bet on a turbo 6 in the next gen - front or mid engined.

Personally, I would put AWD at the top of my wish list, then I could go and play in the snow.......

There are some who are saying there is a mid-engine car, but its a Cadillac, not a Vette, due to the price.
Of course that could be some misinformation GM is spreading to throw off those who are interested in the new Vette.

Then there have been the rumors they may make Corvette a brand and make a family of vehicles. You could very well end up one day having the option of a V6 rear wheel drive, to a V8 AWD, and then a range topping electric hybrid AWD.

For me, I just hope they stick to tried and true and maintain the affordable American Sports car. It's already getting too expensive in my opinion.

The intent was to accelerate the generation spans. I think the target, per various information and conversations was 6 yrs. Of course, it all comes down to sales/success, but by all accounts the C7 appears to be doing very well.

2019 is an anniversary year...2020 coincides with "vision"...two marketing opportunities there that can be exploited that work with the timeline.

I really hope they don't go with a V6. V6's are a dime a dozen. It would be like Harley going to a single cylinder. The V8 is what makes it a Corvette. It's the signature of the car.

H-D is more of a lifestyle statement, than a form of transportation, so What would it matter if there were still room for logos. May even be smoother?

I keep seeing this comment, but I see very few on the road. And I have never seen a convertible. I see more C6's than any other model, but still not many.

Shouldn't this be in the C8 section?

I see them everywhere in Houston. High end cars are fairly common here though so it may depend on your area.
