I spoke to someone i know who works for GM. They have informed me that there will be no Corvette mid engine at first. Apparently GM thinks being that Cadillac is the premiere GM product they will make a Cadillac mid engine before the Corvette. I know this sounds crazy but being that Cadillac is now going to be built out of the Bowling Green factory along with Corvette this may be true. The plant is having major renovations adding a second level to build Cadillacs. If this is true many Corvette people will surely be UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm sure the Nay Sayers will be chiming in NP but this guy i know is usually spot ON. http://wardsauto.com/news-analysis/g...-bowling-green
I hope not because that car if it were to be a Cadillac first it would topple Chevrolet and Corvette off its premiere sports car throne. Cadillac would become the sports car king.

As I've reported here several times in the past, I know a guy that has a brother-in-law, who went to high school with a guy that has a former step father that is a minority owner in both a Chevy and Cadillac dealership. Based on a conversation a while back, but not all that long ago; there is a possibility that a MR car is made as a Chevy AND a Caddy...but more information will be known when it come out...

Your dated link notwithstanding, but this has been known for quite awhile.
The head guy at Cadillac let it slip months ago.
The first appearance will be as a Caddy...the Corvette version will follow later.

I never said it wouldn't be a Cadillac. The hilarious component was the use of an 18 year old news article about the XLR. If you have ever read my posts on the subject, many times I have said the ME may wind up being a Cadillac and that as late as last year GM still hadn't made up their minds.

if its a caddy first are they thinking it'll be a vette later?

Did the Cadillac Allante or the XLR or the Buick Reatta or the Pontiac Feiro topple the Corvette?
Which of the four is around today?
The purpose of a new Cadillac sports car is not to be in competition with the Corvette, but to get those buyers of Mercedes, BMW, and Audi cars and SUV's to give a look at the Cadillac XTS, CTS, CT6, etc. Cadillac is trying to boost the sales of their mundane lineup of grocery getters and not to run the Corvette out of business.
