Again amazing artwork FVS, congrats..... and still totally befuddled how the heck you get all those reflections/lighting so correct working in 2D. Yeah I'm impressed with the car, but as someone who works in 3D, I'm mystified by your artistry (reflecting my lack of knowledge of your methods). Really looking forward to the side view. Glad you started a fresh thread. Now I'm hitting the site every few hours... trying to be patient. Thanks for the entertainment.

Default Thanks to FVS & C7Pimp !!!

Wow, this version provides needed hope over the render on C&D magazine. You two gentlemen have introduced some sincere hope for all of us on this forum. Great job to you both!!!
I will be driving a C8 in Red if it continues to improve.
Awesome work. Look forward to your side and rear views.

The colors used in the renderings remind me of skittles

I think you are way overestimating the bulge in the front hood, and any need to vent hot air out over the car. Almost all ME cars have a rather innocent front hood (plain, straight, and flat).

Great job!!
If this was mid-engine at the same prices as C7 MSRP, I’d be lining up like it was the iPhone 1.

We worked of the C/D render which had a ridiculously high and bulged hood. We tried to bring it down as much as we could. It's not that easy. Also, it's obviously not a heat extractor...

Almost all ME are plain, flat and straight?

Just to ease concerns...

Note the photo distortion on the 488 pista. This happens to the spy images to various degrees depending on the lens used so a "direct" comparison to the spy images does not really accurately depict the car.

The front view of the c8 render is a dynamic pose and is a bit exaggerated for dramatic effect. The hood really does not "bulge". It is the angle of the rendering. Note the 488 hood "bulge" . Not very different in angle. Maybe a version of the c8 will have a "deep" hood vent on future models.?

Amazing job FVS and C7Pimp! My edit is crude (again, on my laptop touchpad in MS Paint) but addresses the front windshield area some have mentioned, in the effort to more closely depict what we see in mule photos. I also minimized the rear wing, especially the wickerbill and side strafes. I am hopeful that we will not see that type of aero piece on this car, but a more integrated and advanced rear aero which strikes a better balance of downforce and drag than the C7 Z06 type of wing. Not to offend any current C7 owners with that wing (on which it looks awesome), I just believe we're going to see an improved aesthetic (and function) for the ME's rear aero. Again, much appreciation for your efforts!

My personal financial rule has always been to never buy new.....this may be a car to change that if it looks like the above!

That hood looks like a ZR1 with the supercharger opening. I like the C&D front end of course whatever they end up calling WHITE

It looks nice but to me is a bit boring and derivative of the C7, at least from the front. I'm a bit disappointed with this if it's true.

That has also been our rule and actual practice the last three generations, e.g., always waiting until year two.

However, as noted, and as we have had our deposit in since Feb., 2015 with Mike Furman, not ruling out a change of purchasing patterns for us.

A 2020 ME could well be ours next summer.

And let us not forget what FVS posts often, that he expects that what GM actually reveals will be better looking than any of his 2D renderings.

the vent serves two purposes; it increases cooling capability of the radiator and assists in downforce on the front end (decreases lift). it also probably decreases drag to some extent, thereby increasing fuel mileage.

all good results at very little cost.
