That is a great dream. Running four Corvettes would help level the playing field, for the Ford GT’s and the Porsche RSR’s were each four in number at this year’s race.

One of the comments at LeMans was that they were going to miss the sound of the Chevy V8s. But not alll the commentators were fond of the sound of American Muscle. So that was an interesting comment along w the one that next year would be Corvettes 20th year at LeMans. Corvette has been more consistent at LeMans than many other nakes.

It's been a bit longer than that.

I like K.I.T.T.'s idea, too. I recall the first year Corvette got back into racing almost twenty years ago. It wasn't stellar. But through all the changes, they've been great IMO. I'd really like to see two FE and two ME's running. That would be great!!!!!

And since you seem to need some sort of “Special Event” to conveniently win GTE-Pro at Le Mans lately maybe Corvette Racing would actually win!

But in all seriousness that would be cool, and regarding Le Mans it would just be great to see good, real racing again; not a Porsche qualifying 2 seconds ahead of the rest of the field and then controlling the pace; it’s like watching Mercedes F1 2014-2016 all over again!

How about a C8.R reveal at Petite Le Mans this year?

IMHO, I think the reveal will be early next year, but I agree with you, it's not far off now, probably less than a year.

I am not counting out a bonsai one lap run in partial camo there, or maybe instead with the 2020 ME production car.

A reveal of the C8.R at the Petit is just the kind of thing to keep interest in the brand going strong thru the winter.

Fat chance on that one. As much as I'd love to see that happen (I live 20 min from Road Atlanta) I ain't seein it. GM doesn't have much love for this program...they pay for it, they do it...but when you see the effort (or lack thereof) that they place in the enthusiast experience at the tracks, the repetitive, same boring presentation, displays and tent they've used for years and years, it's pitiful. AMG, Porsche and other brands have a bolder presence in the fan areas than Corvette does and that's sad as hell in my opinion, because the Corvette always seems to have the strongest fan base at the track. Frankly though, I think that's changing slowly over time. The old boy corrals that look like a bingo hall is a big part of it too.

It'd be nice if they would put a little energy into seeing something new or really seeing something inspiring from Corvette, at the track events....new models, a larger presence of race cars and Corvettes in the fan zones, etc. Granted I don't know the logistics factors or the restrictions placed upon how much presence they can or can't have, but I just find it to be very lackluster...and I can do that simply by looking at Ford. Ford's area at Petit is massive...they have Ford GT's, mustangs, a huge ring of trailers, giving away all kinds of things. Ford's bean counters somehow have more passion for the racing environment than GM does, as seen by their actions.

After thinking about it...that China race is mid November...you MIGHT be seeing the debut of the mid engine race car right there.

I can't help but think that the Concourse d'Elegance at Pebble Beach might be the best and biggest splash for GM on this. The number of high end auto buyers in attendance is easily as large as anywhere on earth. The venue is superb and attendance overall is enormous. But, as I am acutely aware, I do not call the shots for corporate GM. They will show it when they show it, wherever they show it (to coin a phrase).
