If the vert is a retractable hard top with "buttresses", what's the point of a targa?

Personally, I'd love to see the rig as a fixed roof coupe and retractable hard top vert. I like the advantages/benefits the fixed roof provides as far as better structural integrity, and absence of pops, rattles, squeaks, etc.

I'm pessimistic I'll be able to get one, though, as GM will probably go targa to avoid the cost/weight of the airbags.
DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER. This is exactly why they would go targa over a hard top.

Never realized a FRC had different requirements... is that new? The C5 FRC didn't have anything extra.

Yeah, the C5 and C6 FRC didn't have to deal with today's requirements.

Kinda sucks, cuz I'd really like to see a FRC ME. Who knows, maybe GM will bite the bullet and offer it anyway.

It's now 2018, and people are still complaining about squeaking targa tops on their new Corvettes.

I don't know about other people, but I really don't want my head busted open in a side impact collision, because GM wanted to save some money on safety equipment. That seams like a lame excuse for not offering a fixed roof car.

Convertibles and targa top vehicles have slightly less strignet safety regulations.

The same regulations as the c5z06..

Live on the edge.
