Corvette C8 Release Date - Who's thinking of getting one?

I will get one for sure. My dealer has promised me the first one he can order. I’m prepared to pay something over Msrp.
Maybe lots.
Im getting his first 2019 ZL1 , have Sept 19 as build date. I’ll be modding it to 1000 hp range. The C8 will probably be my last performance car. I’ve promised my wife I won’t mod it.

All good points, it's a preference thing...but: I don't think Corvette is going to cater to the 23%. They'll focus on the performance of the ME and if auto's are it (they are), that's what they'll use. I'd be very surprised if Corvette introduces a manual C8 ever. Some other speculation: FE C8, don't think so. Hybrid C8 AWD, possibly. What I see here is Corvettes move to high tech. Manual rowing isn't it. I could be wrong of course all the way around, but I got a hunch...

Same here. Plus I want to see if they go with a retractable hard top version. Best of both worlds - coupe for track days, convertible for cruise days.

GM could releases the car with only the DCT, most would buy it anyways, then 2-3 years in when sales begin to slow they could offer a special edition no cost option for a manual trans for the die hards (like me).
I think that would suck, but it's a great way to manipulate the market and get people to pay more for things.
I was at the Porsche dealership recently kicking tires and the salesperson had a few nice used cars with manuals and I asked him if those were hard to sale or less in demand and he said it's the exact opposite. In the performance market , when there ends up being fewer manuals sold new, the manuals are in very high demand on the used market and command a premium.

I just got my 2019 Stingray in late July. I think I will wait for about two years after ME intro. First to let any teething problems subside and second to see what discounts emerge. A third and more unlikely path is a FE replacement, but I highly doubt that. I think that will depend on how much the ME's price increase is.

Nice color combos. Would be sweet if there was contrasting stitching was offered in a green or orange as well. Keeping fingers crossed they offer lots of color choices!

I’m definitely going to buy one, the when is more of the question. I know first year Vettes typically have huge mark ups and I’m definitely not paying that. I also am considering just waiting for the GS version and trading my current C7 GS on that. That way my payments will be super low and I can continue on my exotic car quest. So 2021/22 might be my when.

Naa, don't need a manual anymore. Nobody is streeting or tracking manuals anymore (except Miata...love that car!). It used to be fun to row gears and win, but now it's auto that are killing it on the track. That said, I'll wait for MY22 when the dealers are done raping buyers and fixes are addressed.
I'm all in. I've been in since the c5 til present. They just keep getting better and better. Being single with no kids, money is technically no object. But there comes a point where i ask myself how much money is too much money for any given purchase i make. Corvettes always perform and look good without spending a fortune and thats why i know i'm in on this one.

I am not the first to think/say this but looking at the past is a good predictor of the future. From the C5 MSRP to the C6 MSRP and the C6 to the C7 MSRP. I do think the jump may be a little larger than the % increases of C5,C6, C7 because of the cost of going mid engine and this being a truly revolutionary re-branding. So that is why I gave flex in the 64-69K number.
If it follows 100% the tradition between new body styles then $64,495-64,995 is the MSRP, if we account for DCT only and it costs a bit more for mid engine, figure 69,495-69,995. I think they will 100% advertise it at least the first year that they did all this for UNDER $70K.

If this car has 500+ hp and a PDK-type transmission for under $80K, I'd be strongly tempted. I have a C7 GS and it really could use another 75-100 hp or so. I don't need 755.
It would have to look right too. Some renderings I've seen are either very blocky or have a bizarre intake forward of the rear wheels. This doesn't look too bad:
