Those brakes, the 305 section rear tires and I thought a standard small block pushrod V8 make the C8 price in C7 area.
I'm really interested to see if it's actually a twin cam pushrod engine with two intakes and one exhaust valve - as has been mentioned as a possibility. Solves two issues I had with another old small block! Twin cams allow independent control of cam timing on intake and exhaust for max low end torque, high rpm power and optimum mpg cruising. Replacing the large intake with two small ones gets better breathing and higher rpm capability!
As Andy Pilgrim "leaked," an ME leaves room for an electric FWD hybrid! Andy also alluded to why you're "boxy appearance!" The rear C8 will hold golf clubs. He won't have mentioned that if he didn't know it has room!
Yep not as sexy as my favorite ME, a 1967 Ferrari 330 P3 but it has no storage capacity! The furnk of the C8 looks bigger than a current Ferrari 488, which has almost as much storage capacity up front as in a C7 Vert! Add what looks to be room for golf clubs and more in the rear and it may not be that bad!
Form Follows Function, so whatever it looks like will be fine for me (from what I has seen already!) Heck I have learned to accept my front spats and got over the no round taillights when I saw the C7 launch on TV! Put money down on my Z51 C7 soon after.
I'll wait to get more details on the C8 and my 2017 Grand Sport will be just fine for at least another year!

Melting Slicks
This is why I love the launches of a new generation Vette. I am holding out for the Z06 this time but I definitely can't wait to see the car in person at a dealership. My biggest concerns lie in the "will I fit" category as I am 6'5" and sports cars leave very little in the way of leg or head room. I'll be bringing my helmet as well to see if I can track it as well

This thread is funny.
In a stupid, mind-numbing, IQ-lowering sort of way.
$169,000, count on it.

Complete whiff on the price, but that interior drawing is pretty spot on.

There is some stupidity here but I don't see it on Zerv's part. His interior sketch is spot on and he always has pinned his price to the twin cam Zerv model which given the C7ZR1 price is likely spot on.

That to me looks like one of the umpteenth times he repeated himself in telling everyone that he knew 100% that no C8 base model would be under 6figures. Welp...the hate he got is his own fault.

The Corvette Has always been the biggest bang for the money.. ALWAYS... and with an offering under 60K is simply amazing. All This car for so little money.. The only sad thing about it is that I was not born later in life to have been part of this build. A nicely built and appointed Street C8 Z51 package for under 70K is amazing.. Back when I was designing Corvettes, the c5 was a 100,000 dollar sports car for 50 grand.. Its completion at the time came off the line at Stuttgart. at right around 100K. Congratulations Corvette engineering design studio

At this price point and evolution change in design, they won't be able to build them fast enough. Just the selection of color options, and interior choices is what will fuel this build. BTW after the choice of vehicle, American consumers choose color above all other options first.
