PCMIII all good points. My only response is, if you want to bet on American "world class manufacturer" that will do well in the international market place with your own hard-earned money, Boeing is a much better buy than GM, Ford or Chrysler.

BTW, THEIR CEO is an engineer who went to Iowa State University. I rest my case.

Graceful? Beautiful lines? Go buy an SL550 and turn your ********* in to your wife. A Mantaray is a giant piece of flesh shaped in a fin that's literally one of the slowest, most docile animals in the ocean. They look like floating body parts. What has this world come to? I am finally checking out I just can't take this planet anymore I don't know why some people can't accept news that doesn't fit their hopes but god dammit do you honestly think they will offer an exclusive, mid engine 720s mechanic-specific car in a 70k base model? This thing is competing against the 720s, 570, 600LT.

Price wise has already been stated by REPUTABLE PEOPLE to be over that of the ZR1 (hence adios ZR1)..

If the base is a little over a ZR1 I'd say that's pretty damn good considering the current competition is upwards of 250k BASE.. but were looking at a new type of Vette and I guarantee you this is a new design, platform, and will not have the current C7 engine inside of it. That's just setting yourself up for disappointment.

GM is in too tough a shape financially to effff around with fantasy toys that sell in low numbers. The C8 will be aimed at 33,000 unit sales a year, or it will die. Simple as that. 33,000 units does not compute with $169,000.

Not even Ferrari, the "ne plus ultra of ridiculous excess", can sell more the 3,000 units at these prices levels. Dan Quayle is no John F. Kennedy, and Corvette will never be Ferrari.
Your going to be dead wrong. They will have a Z06x that will run with the ME's but the ME will be produced like Vipers, NSX, etc.. weather or not people like you want to believe it. Low production mid engine 5.5L engine with a turbo offering that will be a ring leader.. period.

Who the hell ever said the C8 was going to be produced 33k units per yet? Who said the C7 would be canceled? There is no "public" info just some tidbits from insiders that most people seem dissapointed with so they are in lala land thinking the Zora will be a half *** c7 crossover and everyone will be driving around in mid engine cars with 6-800hp? Get real brother.. If your hoping that you'll buy a Zora for 60k your going to be severely disappointed.

ps: Best troll op ever

The people falling for this are the ones who fell for the ZR1's "record breaking gt3/2rs ring time" to come out.. I'll be back on this thread after the zora is announced.

If it is a 3000 unit per year car, GM is not interested in building it - its not worth their time. They sold over 30,000 Chevy Cruzes last quarter and they are were so happy with sales they are CLOSING the Lordstown, OH plant. GM does NOT do low volume anything.

GM has NEVER built two generations of Corvette simultaneously. If they will be building C7's in MY2020, they will NOT be building C8's.

If they ARE building C8's in MY2020, they will price them to sell at least 33,000 units. If they can't sell 33,000 units in the first year, they will close the line. Why is this so hard to get through your head ? GM DOES NOT BUILD LOW VOLUME CARS. ANY CAR PRICE OVER $100,000.00 BASE MSRP IS LOW VOLUME !!!! GET OVER IT !!!!!

33K at BGA is way too low. BGA needs to build 74K minimum. The ME will never come close to that volume.

If true, and that is a big IF, for the other 41,000 they can just add a line and build a few Blazers. Simple.

Seriously, one thing that people keep forgetting when talking about plant capacity is the profit margin per unit. If you are making $15,000 per unit you don’t have to produce the volume that you would on a $1,000 margin product. It is not the number of units produced, it is the profit margin per unit that matters.

Maybe Camaro or maybe Cadillac. Or maybe my hope: a refreshed C7 FE with lots of carbon fiber interior and the Blackwing motor!

I feel really sorry for you.

No one believes what you posted above and dug up on Google from an obscure firm claiming to be an industry expert. You've repeated it dozens of times now, and it has been debunked by multiple smart people, who know a lot about the subject, multiple times now.

Your posts are now being almost completely ignored, and a lot of folks are laughing at you. Do yourself a favor and dial it back.

Time and time again, it has been demonstrated that BGA and the Corvette are very profitable at way less than half that rate of production. GM made an estimated profit of $2B on the C7 run at way less than half that average annual production.

I am now making a pledge to honor your request. I will completely ignore you going forward after this one last response. Most others are already doing so.

The major difference between you and me, as well as many others on this forum, lies in the ability understand when you've misunderstood or gotten things wrong. I've been wrong many times, but I have the ability to distinguish between what I previously understood to be fact and more definitive information when presented with that information.

I have publicly conceded on this forum that I was mistaken many times. You are unable to do that.

Everyone believes somebody on this board who posted ONE thread with NO NAME, NO INFORMATION, NO E-MAIL, NOTHING.

Some troll wrote a story and that's your best source. There are insiders who've been right before (see OP), you have reputable dealers with social media presence telling you-- and your source of information wouldn't pass the 3rd grade IQ verification requirements. Sources with no name, history, or credentials are about as far off from a reliable source as you can get but hey have fun with your "sources".

The price of the base car has not been announced and is not definitive from any sources here. What you can definitely count on is a base version that is below the price of the current ZR1. GM is not going to price this car directly inline with the low volume exotics.
