C8 will be at NAIAS 2019

Well, sorta. Porsche AG (the company that makes the cars) is wholly owned (since 2012) by Volkswagen AG. But the majority of voting rights (51 percent, more or less) in Volkswagen AG are owned by Porsche SE (a holding company controlled by the Porsche and Piech families). As with many things German, its complicated ... not that any of it really matters to the point of this discussion.
Yes, incorporation laws in Germany can be tedious but in this case is deliberate to mask what was a de facto hostile VW take over of Porsche later turned into a public relations alliance of sort ala Euro.
I consult extensively in the Stuttgart area. I assure you Porsche belongs wholeheartedly to VW and reports to VW. The 51% "thing" is the honorable token of sympathy to the Piech family...

Porsche is a full subsidiary controlled by VW or stated in other words VW has Responsibility, Authority and accountability over Porsche.

I would laugh my *** of if GM revealed it in the 15th. Many news outlets reported on this thread, making it no longer a surprise. GM could unveil it on the 15th not only to troll Zerv02, but by the 15th hope will be lost for a NAIAS reveal. Then GM comes right out with the C8!

Here too...completely out of canter...
On this one foosh is closer to center mass.
Within the context of 911s and Corvettes the two employ two completely different sales models and distributions.
As stated Corvette is 95% a domestic product with domestic distributions. That is how they keep the car overheads in check. Cost of marketing and distribution contained to the minimum.
911 is an export product. Porsche all together is an export product. Overheads to the hilt passed appropriately to customers.
GM pulled out of EU eons ago. No reason to expend overhead on a 35% tariffed market to protect VW Golfs...

Any place outside of the US and Canada, Corvettes can be sold in a Cadillac dealership. GM can export Corvettes outside of the US just as they export Cadillacs outside of the US. Cadillacs are sold in Europe and Corvettes sold in Europe are sold in the Cadillac dealerships.
GM knows how to export vehicles that are made in the USA to foreign countries. But, for GM to do that, there has to be a viable market outside the USA for the Corvette. Since only around 10% of the Corvettes made in the US are sold outside of the US., that is a clear indication that the Corvette does not have the sales appeals as does the Porsche, outside of the US.
If there was a demand for 30,000 Corvettes outside of the USA annually, Chevrolet would be manufacturing and selling them worldwide.
I'll repeat it again; GM has the ability to sell Corvettes in all the major markets, if there was demand for the Corvette worldwide.
While GM did get rid of it's European manufacturing business(and related sales/service), they still have sales/service dealerships in Europe, selling Cadillacs and Corvettes. GM did not just abandon the European market as you seem to believe. If there were a demand for, say, 10,000 Corvettes annually in Europe, GM could handle it. Period.

Splitting hairs Joe.. paper/real life...don't mean to be coy but the next thing you are going to show me is FCA's annual statement with percentages and tell me that FCA is Italian...!? or Lamborghini is Italian...!?

No spy shots of GM moving the C8 into position for an NAIAS reveal? Wonder why not?
